This is really awful and should be contained asap...
On 6th of June last at around 7.00 P.M. I along with my mother went to the swimming pool to swim. Certain objectionable issues I encountered on that day which I would like to bring before you for your taking immediate action.These are as follows :
As soon as I approached near the Pool, I found number of adult males sitting on the chairs by the Pool side ogling at ladies. One cannot identify the faces of those people in question as the area was pretty dark. I also came to know that sitting by the Pool side a group of adults in the evening till night is a daily phenomenon. Many ladies are disgusted at the site but for the fear of being physically harmed they prefer to keep shut.What business do these people have got to do there at the place of females’ bathing place? When I was about to touch water, a security guard stopped me pointing out the swimming dress I was wearing was not perfect and called another senior lady sitting separately to intervene. She observed me and said O.K. with the swimming dress. Later I came to know her name and she was one Mrs. Kumar. I would like to know why Security Guard on duty called Mrs. Kumar to verify my dress? Was she appointed by the Builders’ side to supervise the duties of the Security Guards? Sometimes back, two/three Muslim ladies also faced problems with the male security guards at the swimming pool.
In view of the above, two suggestions are forwarded for your taking prompt action before it is too late:
First : All the chairs must be removed from the Pool side so that no one can sit idle ogling at females’. But if allowed, it is nothing but encroaching upon the privacy and modesty of female members of EGV Complex.
Second : Immediately remove all male guards manning the ladies area and employ only female guards to interact with ladies before someone goes to police station for lodging a case of harassment.
Third : This is a crying need to build a makeshift dress changing room near the swimming pool. At present, ladies travel from the existing washing room to the Pool side with a swimming costume through the glare of a dozen male security guards and passersby, besides those people mentioned above to the Pool side.If there is a need to close down the swimming pool for a short time to get the above facilities in place, let us do that. Better to manage swimming pool professionally or be ready for ugly consequences. This is certainly avoidable.
We are ready to cooperate with you towards building EGV Complex as one of the best in Kolkata. I will be happy to see your respond through execution of your action towards right direction as I speak on behalf of all the lady residents of the complex and to avoid any untoward incident that hampers the peace and reputation of this place.
