Breaking News: Elita is charging owners @24/unit for electricity charges.
Mr Gupta of Tower 1 is the first owner to receive the electricity bill
for Jan and Feb 2013 and his monthly electricity expenses is approx
6000/-. When he talked to Mainteanance Person he was told that they
negotiated with HIDCO based on commercial rates and hence the charges.
I fail to understand EGV being a residential apartment why electricity
should be charged at commercial rates and who decided the rates. We
were not involved during this negotiation. This is going to affect all
who are staying at present or planning to stay in future.
This is high time we take this up with EGV officials and MA team that
we cannot pay at this rate. Rs 24/unit is excessively high inspite of
recent power tariff hike. Today evening at around 7 PM myself, Mr
Gupta and all the present residents are meeting inside a common area
in the campus to discuss all the open issues we are facing e.g. water
logging, excessive electricity charges etc. Ppl who are not staying at
present but want to contribute are also welcome to this meeting.

Why should a person pay Rs. 24/unit for residential property in a place like Kolkata ?Sanjeev Gupta
