Fwd: National Night Out and request for volunteers and donations (draft, what do you think?)

Hello all,

The Eliot Neighborhood Association is hosting the National Night Out event on Tuesday August 4th from 5:30-8:30 pm at Dawson Park.  

National Night Out is community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhood a safer, better place to live.  Together, we are making that happen. National Night Out enhances that relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring neighbors and police together under positive circumstances.  Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events and visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.  

This year we are having a potluck live band and raffle.  We are looking for donations beverages (soda and/or cases of water), paper products (plates, cups, plastic utensils, etc.) and also need some help with set-up, clean-up and manning the pot luck tables.
