Eli returns to Iowa, and other news

Well happy springtime from the Eli crew, everyone!! As Biz Markie once observed,

 

The trees and the grass start lookin' fresh
And the sun and sky be lookin' they best
Birds be singin', flowers be bloomin'
A lot of brand new cars be zoomin'

 

It's a beautiful time of year. And there's a lot of beautiful stuff going on in Eli Jones country...or you can scroll down for tour dates.

 

First off, we're returning to Iowa City and Cedar Rapids this weekend, and the whole band's really excited about it. We've got a lot of new material since our last visits to ICYC and Mahoney's, so all you Iowa freaks better be ready to party with us. 

 

May is gonna be packed with road gigs for us too - Springfield, IL, and Terre Haute, IN are up first, and Chicago, Charleston, and Rock Island, y'all better look out too, because you won't be spared.

We're taping podcasts, TV appearances, and radio shows along the way, covering all the major media...more info on those to come. Meanwhile, we're writing songs faster than anyone can keep up with... new material abounds.

 

...All of this is gonna sound like small potatoes, of course, when you read our next bit of news. Our beloved Stefanie Berecz is in a family way, expecting her first child in August! You can never have too many backup singers. Of course the band is excited for Stef's good news, and she's going to be taking a bit of time off starting in July, as apparently raising a child takes some amount of time and energy. We promise she'll be back onstage in the fall. In the meantime, we'll be keeping our chops sharp with a few summer shows without her. We're already working on the costumes and choreography. Stay tuned...and let's see how many congratulations comments we can get going at myspace, shall we?
