Greetings All,

We have a lot of news, the most important one is the new proposal of Terms of Service (and a set of principles) that Zuckerberg posted today... and the things are moving fast..

In a quick read I found two possible conflicts:

ToS Problems: (see: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=67758697570&topic=7569), I read it and I found the points 2.* could be in conflict with CC licenses (but IANAL).

Principles Problem: Also a point of conflict could be their 2nd point in their proposed principles (see http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=54964476066&topic=7960)
Because they say that we have the right to choose, and we have the right to choose not to give them a full license, as they claim in their new ToS.

So this is a call to have a lot of CC-eyeballs on the issue, and I opened a thread to discuss and analyze that: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=55178542061&topic=8164

The proposal of integration of CC in facebook was almost finished, but now we will need help to adapt it to the new terms/situation.

3. (Maybe this is the most important issue)

You know? the group has 1100 people that want Creative Commons licensing in Facebook.

If you saw the new ToS (point 12.3) 7000 people is the magic number to gain the possibility of change almost anything. (If we have the chance to change the ToS with 7000 people, then we also have the possibility to include CC)

Do you think there are more than 7000 CC fan people on facebook (facebook has 150 million people)? I think yes, don’t you?

So please invite people to the group, if you believe in CC then you know having CC in Facebook is really something good.

We have to improve the regional groups also... we can help us to connect with us.
