Professor A M El Hassan explains how Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDI) and the LEAP platform have endeavored over nearly a decade to bring change through capacity strengthening to the management and treatment of Visceral Leishmaniasis (aka Kala-Azar) in Sudan. Specifically by establishing 2 centers of excellence for diagnosis and treatment of Kala-Azar in Gedarif State, Eastern Sudan namely Kassab hospital & Prof Elhassan’s Center.
