It seems like the whole general idea and the group is kinda dead. I
came up with my own free/commercial repository. If someone is working
on one and gathering all of us, let me know. In the meantime, here's

I think the group is dead, but not the idea. It looks like everyone
has been busy with 1.8 release. Let's see if we can revive the
discussion after 1.8.1 is released this week.

It sounds like a great plan.
On a side note, Ismayil, would you be interested in listing your elgg
products on our shop? We are no longer handling our store as an
alternative while someone creates one. We are now preparing a game
plan for the shop. We are not going to charge commissions or anything
for sale nor listing. We are planning to profit on advertising. We are
working on the details, but it is a great plan. Reply if you are
interested or not.

Hi Rodolfo,
Based on how I built my business model, repos and shops do not make much sense to me any more. I am building a club, which is subscription based. While most plugins are GPL, club members have access to latest plugin releases and support. Working through a shop would complicate the whole process and structure. I prefer the direct contact with the client. I know all of my members on a personal level, I communicate with them regularly, and help them address whatever problems they might be experiencing. The plugins are not for sale per se.

business model. The thing is I'm recruiting elgg developers and I'm
making sure I ask everybody and don't leave anyone out of my idea, so
that's why I asked you.
