I am importing a aaf file from sony vegas 11. When I do I get the message import encountered exception failed to import a clip. All of the files load in along with the sequnce but they are offline. I tried batch importing it finds the files but says 0 of 1 clips were imported an nothing come back online.

I know very little about AAF, apart from the fact that it is an export format that supports MXF wrapped media. I also don't use sony Vegas so my input here is really general. Avid tells you quite a lot about exporting AAF but very little about importing it in its help file. Suffice to say what you are trying to do is not a supported workflow (yet). So...

I really like sony vegas, and I'm thinking about buying a new editing software. I have been using shotcut for 6 years to run my small (80 subscriber) youtube channel, and I hate how limiting it is. I have used a friend's copy of sony vegas on their computer before a while ago and I just don't know if it's worth buying. I'm against piracy, so that's out of question but I'm not sure what the best payment option is. There's the one time payment for 300, theres the annual option, and the monthly, and the one month. I'm not sure if its a subscription that turns into a non subscription ownership or not and that's the main thing I am curious about. If anyone can tell me if I should, or any alternatives that would be better for my situation, please let me know.

Any Idea why the rendering might be taking so long and how could I shorten it? In the bottom right of sony vegas there is a time of around 1h which is the main clip. I am wondering if vegas is trying render all of the clip for some reason?
