At Elexicon a one of the guys in the Tech track was talking about using Brother QL-720NW receipt printers with Checkin because they are cheap and they cut the labels.

I purchased one and am testing it out but whenever Checkin prints a label, it spits out 2 blank labels after the correctly printed label. I am pretty sure it is a simple setting but I have not found it yet.

have you gone into the printer driver and made sure the label size was properly configured? With the GoDex, if you don't have the size right, it will spit out multiple labels.

Yes, I have tried to adjust the label size because I think that is indeed the problem. So far no luck. The labels for this printer are a bit wider than for the Zebra printers we are currently using. the label design seems to adjust nicely and look fine so it is not so straight forward yet as to how much adjustment on length there may need to be. I guess it may take some trial and error.

I was successful in getting it to print correctly. In printing preferences, I created a custom paper size and called it 2.4x3.5-Elexio.

Hi Sandy!
I know this was a LONG time ago for you :), but I purchased the same printers and have been fighting with them for awhile now. I setup a label and set the default on the Windows printer to be a 2.4x3.5 label, but Checkin STILL dumps out two "blank" labels after every print. I say "blank," since one style actually spreads the items out over those three labels. There was nothing you changed in Checkin, JUST in Windows printer preferences? THANKS for any tips you have.

Hi!
This is what works: Any time you change the driver or the name of the driver you have to set this up again.
Nothing changed in Checkin.

Windows Printing Preferences:
Paper Size: Pick 2.4 and make length 3.0 or whatever Length you want
.12 Feed

Use BRADMIN installed on a PC to setup wireless on each printer
 - it will say it failed but push the wireless button to test it
 - unplug USB and test wireless printing
Power Settings:
Power On when Plugged In
 - OFF
Auto Power-off Time Setting
 - Not turn off - )
Network settings on Power On
 - Wireless LAN by Default'

Thanks, Sandy! I am embarrassed to say that it took me FOREVER to figure out my problem. I was choosing the paper to be "2.4x3" or "2.4x3.5" or some sort of LABEL size. The trick is to set the paper to "2.4" (as you said) and then choose the LENGTH of your label on that paper size. Works great! Thanks again for your time!
