Does anyone else have trouble with the speed of Elexio in the afternoon? It seems to slow down quite a bit for me around 1pm.

Hannah - a couple follow up questions that may help me provide some suggestions: 

  1. Are you using a Mac or a PC? 
  2. If you're using a PC, how are you connecting to your Elexio Database? (In other words, are you connecting online to Elexio's servers or are you connecting to a network or offline copy on the server at your church)? 
    1. To determine if you're connecting online or offline, on the login screen that first appears when you open Elexio Database, expand the "Connection" tab. Here you'll see an 'online, offline, and network' options. 
    2. If you're connecting online, try connecting via network to the database on your local server. That should improve speed significantly. You'll need to connect with your church IT or DB administrator if you need to find the network location.

I am using a PC and I am connecting online.I will try connecting via network, thanks for the suggestion!

Hannah,

Not a problem - hope it makes things much faster for you! Just one FYI - when you connect via the network to your server, the changes you make will be stored locally your server and will sync with Elexio's servers every 45 minutes. Therefore, if anyone is connected online (to Elexio's servers), they may not see your changes until as much as 45 minutes later. (Good to know just in case).

I spoke with our IT guys and they didn't recommend connecting to the network. I guess we have had problems in the past. They are working on other avenues to make it quicker I think!

We have a server setup locally that we connect to in order to avoid the potential slowdowns of connecting online all the time. We've had minimal problems with it. 

Only semi negative thing to be aware of, but is a very minor issue and can be worked around is that the local copy syncs with the elexio online copy every 30 mins, which will create a bit of delay for people working online or guests connecting online. If trying to update something on the web or app and want it done instantly, can just choose to connect online instead, that option is still there, and make the change.
