Dr. Raj Kamal Completes 51 Years of research and Teaching on August 1, 2018, Still Continuing with similar zeal and passionDr. Raj Kamal (b.1949) Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Prestige Institute of Engineering and Science, Indore and former Vice Chancellor and Professor Devi Ahilya University and other academic institutions completes 51 years of research and teaching, Joined as research fellow at I.I.T. Delhi on 01.08.1967, completed Ph.D. from IIT in Feb. 1972. He has worked in six universities since then, Punjabi University Patiala, Uppsala University, Sweden, International Centre for Theoretical Physics Italy, King Mongkut Institute of Technology, Thailand, Kalasalingam University Tamilnadu, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, and Medi-Caps University Indore.
He has published by now 155 research publications, many in world leading journals such as IEEE Transactions of Industrial Electronics USA, Elsevier, Springer, and Physics Review USA. He has and guided 18 Ph.D. students in diverse fields, Spectroscopy, Material Science, Electronics, and Computer science and Engineering.
He has unique distinction of serving as Professor in six subjects, Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Education, Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology.
He is popular in the country due to his six classic textbooks on latest Topics, namely Embedded Systems, Mobile Computing and Internet of Things published from World top Science and Engineering books publishers,such as McGraw-Hill, Oxford University Press and Pearson.
As a Vice Chancellor at DAVV, his unique work was organizing second convocation of the University in 2007 after 17 years, first was in 1990. While first is remembered by award of Honorary Doctorates to great personalities, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, Dr. Bhawalkar, Sunil Mohan Gavaskar and Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeskar. Second one will be remembered in University history by award of honrary doctorates to great personalities, Dr. Verghese Kurien. Rahul Bajaj, Narayana Murthy, Rama Dorai, Shiva Nadar and Krishan Bhai Patel.
Research and Teaching started at the age of 18 years fifty one years back on 1.08.1967 at CSIR Research fellow is still continuing with passion.
