Hi everyone!

Scribe & Quill is launching a new feature for 2008. The brainchild of
Assistant Editor Mindy Phillips Lawrence, we want to know who your
root guru was. Who inspired you as a writer? Let us know by December
31, 2007. Your answers will be published in one of Scribe & Quill's
newsletter in 2008!

WHO'S YOUR ROOT GURU?
A few days ago, I listened to a co-worker talk about her
granddaughter's language arts teacher. She said the woman was
inspiring, creative and made her eighth grade students work hard at
writing. As a former English teacher myself, I was happy to hear such
positive statements about an instructor.
I began to think how much we owe our teachers, especially the ones
that motivate us for a lifetime. One of my former instructors I
consider my root guru of writing. Another primed my pump when I'd
gone dry. I still communicate with both of them and thank them from
the bottom of my heart for their tutelage.
Here's YOUR chance to tell Scribe and Quill who you consider your root
teacher of writing. Who motivated you to develop your love of words?
What methods did they use that were so memorable? Send your answers to
scrib...@gmail.com and we will post as many as possible.
Let's name names and give some credit to our unsung teachers.
Deadline for your submission is December 31, 2007.
