This thread is to propose for consideration the autoinstallation of
Goto/OpenBLAS as a CMake option when no good BLAS/LAPACK is available.
Gromacs does this for FFTW for similar reasons and I think it would
be better than having people use e.g. ATLAS.

I'm all for this. At some point in the near future, Elemental will start adding BLIS as an optional dependency, which would be yet another alternative.
