Youmay have noticed that "programmed" and "programming" stand as an exception to the usual tendency for final consonant doubling to occur in two-syllable words only when the second syllable is stressed (for example, we double the final r in occurring but not in harboring). I use "tendency" guardedly here: Various other exceptions to this tendency exist, and proponents can readily be found for either side in the debate over such unsettled forms as labeling/labelling and leveling/levelling.
I believe that the impetus for this preference was the syllable stress test; certainly that would be consistent with the fact that programmatic (where the greatest stress falls on the third syllable) is listed with only the double-m spelling.
Notice that programer is not an option here. It is quite possible that, going forward, the central role of computers as the objects of programming made the spelling preferences of computer engineers and developers especially significant. In any case, when the computer-related definition of the verb program arrived in the dictionary, the spelling preference flipped.
Here in the U.K. the Americanism "program" conveniently encompassed the computer meaning from earliest days. Thus, over here we can "program" our computer while watching a TV "programme" and the distinction is obvious even if "computer" or "TV" aren't mentioned.
Sadly, it doesn't seem that the aesthetically awkward "programing/programed" has gained any significant usage and therefore "computer programming" is still the preferred option, irrespective of any linguistic rules. I say sadly because it has been very handy to have the differential between "programme" and "program" - two clear and different meanings, but only for us Brits it seems!

Activated lymphocytes adapt their metabolism to meet the energetic and biosynthetic demands imposed by rapid growth and proliferation. Common gamma chain (cγ) family cytokines are central to these processes, but the role of downstream signal transducer and activator of transcription 5 (STAT5) signaling, which is engaged by all cγ members, is poorly understood. Using genome-, transcriptome-, and metabolome-wide analyses, we demonstrate that STAT5 is a master regulator of energy and amino acid metabolism in CD4+ T helper cells. Mechanistically, STAT5 localizes to an array of enhancers and promoters for genes encoding essential enzymes and transporters, where it facilitates p300 recruitment and epigenetic remodeling. We also find that STAT5 licenses the activity of two other key metabolic regulators, the mTOR signaling pathway and the MYC transcription factor. Building on the latter, we present evidence for transcriptome-wide cooperation between STAT5 and MYC in both normal and transformed T cells. Together, our data provide a molecular framework for transcriptional programing of T cell metabolism downstream of cγ cytokines and highlight the JAK-STAT pathway in mediating cellular growth and proliferation.
Can anyone please help out a newb. Got a UV-5G and trying to program a repeater. Followed a youtube video instructions from NotaR with the +5Mhz offset and not getting anything. All I have is the repeater freq. and the tone. No input/output info.
Thank you @Borage257...I'm trying the offset .6 thing from other videos and still getting nothing. Maybe not close enough I guess. Was really excited to get into this but no luck. Will use as basic comms around the block. Thanks again for helping out and will let you know if I get the chirp thing going.
Thanks again sir. Your post about programing on 31 and up using chirp only helped me out. I just entered the tones on a couple of the preset repeaters channels and getting some traffic. So can I transmit on these as well?
2.) The CT icon is showing up to tell you there is a tone set for R-CTCS. Unless you have interference (some one else transmitting on the RX channel) you generally don't need a tone in the R-CTCS slot.
I'm sure you've already got all the answers you need. But in case not, manually enter in your offset of 5MHz, make sure your duplex direction is positive (labeled SFT-D in menu) and make sure you have your Tones right. If their repeater is 100.0 hz and you have a tone of 67 hz, you're not going to be received. And obviously make sure you are on the right channel. 15=462.550 16=.575 17=600 all the way to 22.
Does the programing adaptor that is needed for programing the Resound alera/verso BTE hearing aids come standard with the purchase? Are they availble on EBay?
I am looking at the BTE, not RIC.
Thanks for any help
Meir
I found my resound adapters at Alibaba, but have been unable to make them work (keeps telling me no instruments found)?? It seems that there is an adapter II that has the cable connector on the side rather than on the bottom like mine. I have been unable to locate the adapter II to try. I tried Avanta 3.0, but had to go back to 2.95 to get my model of resound hearing aid (LV70 DVIR). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think he was answering the question about the Airlink2 firmware update with a link to my post. The answer is that if you load up Smart Fit (the new Resound software) it will offer to upgrade the Airline2/Noahlink adapter to the latest firmware for you. The only tricky part is that you must plug in (or unplug and replug in) the adapter AFTER the upgrade program is running.
I found one on ebay UK and the tricky part was the seller only shipped to the UK, but for a small amout there are reshipping companies that will take a shipment and resend it. It took two days to get from the seller to Manchester, and then it got from Manchester to me in less than 24 hours by DHL. The whole thing ran me less than $300. Just keep searching.
what language they use what ida what editor how to download a copy of openwrt and try to make it to work with a new device howwwww? i really hope some one get what i mean
and why i need it because those routers are locked to work with one isp and the firmware is a disaster
to "reinerotto"
Sufficient RAM for stable operation
32MB min, 64MB better
to "mbo2o"
what language they use what ida what editor how to download a copy of openwrt and try to make it to work with a new device howwwww?
mbo2o look
your a developer in this kind of systems but i am not
so that is way i mentioned the php c# c++ to give you the kind of systems i used to work with
the question here is are you familiar with any of those language
did you use php before or c# or visual studio ?? if you don't then i don't think you can help me
because you can't understand what i mean by editor compiler etc...
but if you used it before and that is your suggestion to install it on pc first well
tell me the steps and i will do it but i still don't know the language or the editor or compiler or anything so try to explain it to me in way that i can understand and at least know what to search for you get it
i have no idea about what you just said
well
i know c and c++ and perl and i don't know git-repo and i have the time
but the thing is thank you ,you can't help
clearly you aren't familiar with developing and programing with php or c# or vb or c++ or any visual studio
or web development that's why you're avoiding the questions
anyway thank you
could anyone please read the posts and answer all of my questions
any one that understand what i mean routers use systems like any other device and there mast be a tools and os and things like visual studio and Apache24
language that they use like php or c# etc ....
and there must be a steps to create firmware for a new device using openwrt system
building it on pc or what i don't know and that's why i am asking but please agine anyone who answer me don't ignore any point and explain step by step and don't answer if you don't know
and thank you all
You should think of openwrt as a Linix distro that specialises in routers. It is a lot of C code and Makefiles and Scripts etc to build all the bits to make a complete distro. In the end you have a firmware image that you install on your routers flash. You can add all sorts of packages that others have built or make your own. Anything you build is going to be cross-compiled using GNU toolchain.
Maybe buy your self a used router that is supported by openwrt. I picked up a Netgear WNDR3700v2 for $10 and I am using it to experiement and learn. I haven't done any development yet but once I have finished my learning process I will. For now I am trying to understand the build system and have made a few practice builds to make sure my build/development enviroment is setup correctly. FYI I am using archlinux but Debian or Ubuntu are better recommendations.
Forget about using Visual Studio on Windows that would be a nightmare.
If you like Visual Studio you could use Ubuntu and Install Visual Studio Code on your ubuntu system for example. As far as building it is just a "make" you could setup whatever IDE you like to run make. I prefer to build from the command line.
Note that the 4/32 warning is, itself, outdated. You should expect that a 32 MB device will not be stable in use, and that it will be dropped from support without warning in any future version, and that it will not receive, nor will it be able to accept security updates for the kernel, drivers, or any application code.
