hello,

I have gladly installed the TAP-TOOLS-PRO 3.1. update.

but all TAP-TOOLS objects are not anymore recognised by MAX-FOR-LIVE
8.1.5.
only in the edit modus and in MAX/MSP 5.1.4. everything works fine.
even I have re:selected the file path to the TAP-TOOLS folder.

MACOSX- 10.5.8.

any idea ?

thanks and best wishes,
bd

I can confirm the problem.  This turns out to be a very difficult problem.  In the mean-time I suggest going back to using Tap.Tools 3.0.1 until a fix can be found.

Thanks for the report,
  Tim

hi Tim,
thanks for the reply.

one thought: can it be that the "PRO" license for MfL is buggy ?
so it is not possible to make PlugIns in MfL with Tap-Tools.

>  In the mean-time I suggest going back to using Tap.Tools 3.0.1

I have tried several times to de-instal 3.1. and to install 3.0.1.
but the message pops up: "newer version is already installed"

hmm.. it is impossible to de-install 3.1.

3.0.1 is complaining : "newer version is already there"

is there any trick ?
I can not fined any single file with the name: "tap..." on my
computer.

thanks,
bd

Apple has made the process of downgrading and removing software unnecessarily laborious.  This might be one of the only features of Windows that I think is better than what exists on the Mac :-).

The exact directions for getting rid of this nuisance error depend on your OS version.  So...  What OS version are you running?

thanks,
  Tim

hello,

I am running in trouble because I can not use tap-tools 3.1. in MFL
anymore.

can anyone give me a hint how to de-install tap.tools 3.1. from
MACOSX-10.5.8. ?

I have already deleted the Tap.Tools folder inside the MaxMSP.app
(Applications/Max5/MaxMSP.app/Contents/Tap.Tools)

but still 3.0.1 is complaining: "there is a newer version already
installed"

thanks,
bd

Hi,

Attached is a new Tap.Tools Uninstall script that I plan to include in
the next version of Tap.Tools. Hopefully this will clear it up so you
can then re-install the old version of Tap.Tools.

  Tim

Hi Tim,

Same problem here.
I can't seem to be able to downgrade to 3.01. I was wondering if there
was any progress on this matter?
OS is Snow leopard btw...

Thanks.

Hi,

It's the same for me. Can't uninstall.
I have a show scheduled for monday and decided to not risk having a tap.tools object floating around in one of my M4L patches.
Too bad because I really like the tap.tools objects..
I hope it gets fixed soon.

Hmm don't see my message appearing. Strange.
Sorry if this is going to be a double post.

I was wondering if you could profide the exact uninstall procedure for
MacOSX snow leopard for 3.1.
I'd like to downgrade to 3.01 so I can use the objects in M4L again.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

For me it's the same. Monday I have a show scheduled.
I decided to replace all tap.tools objects. No choice really.

Isn't it possible to include a uninstall command like Jamoma has?

I'm on MacOSX 10.6.4

Thanks.

Hi,

Have you seen my earlier response where I attached an uninstall
command, just like Jamoma has? It seems like this forum/email list
has been having some hiccups the last couple of days...

best,
Tim

I have to try it later this evening, but seeing bdhm's succes I am confident it'll work.
I also received all my messages, guess your right about the hiccups. :)
