Hey, received my kit today many thanks, got it running and configured as per requirements.
I however do not see it online, so assuming firewall is blocking ports required.
I had a look around on the web site but couldn't see any information regarding this.

Thanks

Working now, must of been a delay in it sending data.

Hi Barry

Glad it works for you. In any case we'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks for being an active user of Electrosense!

Hi, I have checked this and it is online inside my network, but isn't contacting externally (I assume).
Can you let me know the ports used so I can enter into my router to see if this fixes the problem?

Thanks

I have rebooted the Pi, I can ping the device and it is showing within my network as online.
I have also created a rule within my router (temporarily) adding it to the DMZ, but still nothing shows.

As there is no SSH capabilities (which I understand) I cannot test this any further.
I will install a fresh image to another SDCard to see if it resolves the issue.

Replaced the SDCard with a new image and is now working.

Hi Barry,

Thanks for all your attempts.

We do not need any inbound port rules, the boards should work as they are. It is a bit strange that at first you could ping, and then it worked when you overwrote the SDCard.

Given that I'd really appreciate it if you could tell us whether you wrote the image yourself or used a premade SD card.

Regards,

I had exactly the same issue. Had to format and install a new Image file onto the same Micro SD card to make it work. Thanks for that info Barry.

If that is the case then it seems there may be something wrong with the writing of SD's provided with the kit. Since we released a new image on February 19th I have been recommending using it when some failing connection issue arises on new installations.

Thanks for sharing!

Following this issue, I would like to make sure which SD cards you were provided with the kit, and whether the cards you are currently using are different in brand/model.

We have recently seen a case of bit-flipping on another user's SD card so we are looking into it. There might be other factors involved besides the SD cards, though.

Thanks,
