Eventually seems to be fine
By Reed J
I ordered one of these cards in preparation for a long trip. When I got the card I put it in my camera and took several photos and everything seemed fine as I reviewed them. The next day when I went to look at the images, I discovered they had disappeared. Thankfully they were not very important, so I formatted the card and shot a bunch more images to try and replicate the problem but everything seemed fine. A few days later after shooting several hundred more images, I noticed that several photos were showing as corrupted and I was unable to download them. Thankfully I was able to use a file retrieval program to retrieve the corrupted files. After contacting the seller, I arranged to get a replacement.
When the new card arrived, I tried everything I could imagine, shooting almost 2000 images, swapping out to other cards, turning the camera (Canon 7D) on and off and pulling the battery, but the card seemed to be fine, so I headed out on my trip. About 600 photos into the trip, I noticed more corrupted images. Thankfully I had a few older SanDisk cards that I managed to get by on for the rest of the trip. When I returned, I contacted Sandisk and they led me through some techniques to try to solve the problem, but a few weeks later more files were corrupted, so I returned the card and got a replacement. It seems that the third time was the charm as I haven't had any corrupt files since then.
I have been a long-time SanDisk customer and am glad they replaced my faulty cards, but I am disappointed that I had to go through two bad cards in a row before finally getting a card that works. For an Extreme product, I expect much better quality control than this.

not up to usual Sandisk quality
By Fishhead
Like other reviewers, I also ordered the "frustration free packaging", received a card with the gold label, and it was defective on arrival. Have been reading multiple reviews of Sandisk cards with the new "gold label" that arrived without packaging, and ended up defective. Have bought many Sandisk CF cards in the past, they are usually high quality performers. Not sure if there has been some outsourcing of Sandisk to a cheap China manufacturer recently, but be cautious of buying such cards, there seems to be a large percentage of the newer ones that are defective.

corrupted disks
By eric
I ordered the CF cards without packaging (Frustration-Free Packaging). I received the cards quickly, and formatted in my Canon DSLR. The LCD images looked fine; however, once downloaded to my computer, about 10% the images were corrupted. Both cards I ordered had the same result. Older cards work just fine. Only these were corrupting images. Your results may vary, but I will never order "Frustration-Free Packaging" again.
