Good buy for starters.

The rig by itself is sturdy. And heavy weight. The positioning of the shoulder pad is bit flimsy. If you are large person your hands might cramp. It was okay for me to shoulder mount and shoot, but the handle bar holder position is where this rig works best. I would have liked it more if they had given connectors to add a video pad attachment to the rig. But overall good value for money.

Great Rig for DSLR Video

This review is from the perspective of a hobbyist director of photography. I purchased this rig about two months ago so I have used it quite a bit and feel confident about this review. I use this rig with a DSLR camera and have attached everything under the sun to it. There are pros and cons to this system, but the pro's outweigh the cons. When I purchased this system, there were no reviews so it was a huge gamble, but I am very happy with the results.
PROs: The rig is very well built considering its price point. Everything is metal, foam or rubber, no plastics. The rig is very configurable and since it's standard 15mm rods, you can change out the rods as you see fit. I run my rig in a over-the-shoulder configuration and it works out well for me. The foam shoulder rest is adequate, not great, but I like how it attaches to the rods and can slide up and down for comfort.
CONs: No rig is perfect. The handles are decent, but they have unscrewed themselves
a few times from the rods. One of the handles has a little play in it, but it's not enough to take away a star. The shipping to the US, takes longer than I would have liked, so if you plan on getting this, make sure you don't need it soon. Order this rig a month in advance. I'm not sure what to do with the counter-weight plate, nothing seems to screw onto it since it doesn't have standard screw mounts or pass-through points. I removed it and put a V-mount battery plate. I guess you could zip-tie some weights to it if you wanted. It really does need a counter-weight.
Bottom Line: If you need a rig for a video production, this is a great rig for this price point. I searched long and far for a rig under $500 that came with everything to get up and running. I added several attachments like 7" monitor, V-mount battery, matte-box, follow focus and I still have room to spare. Like most rigs, there is a shortage of space up front, so you need to conserve your space,
but this rig comes with a handle, half cage, several rods, nice aluminum bits/screws, and a shoulder-rest. For under $500, you can afford to change things out as you grow (handles). My rig with a DSLR, matte-box, follow-focus, 7" monitor, V-mount battery, and 35mm lens weighs around 14lbs. I feel this rig could handle more weight depending on how you have your handles configured. The handles are the weakest point in this setup, but you can get creative with how you set them up and you will have a great rig. I would get this rig all over again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a shoulder rig under $500.

I went to the camera store to buy a rig, and found simple ones, with no counter weight system, no top handle for at least $ 800 dollars, counting that I have to add a follow focus and a matte box, I thought i was going to be bankrupt! I almost went for a cheap 150 dollars rig just to have something for my 5D Mark 3, but that could not mount a follow focus on it. I decided to look up on Amazon and I came across this rig. I could not believe the price and I thought this must not be of a great quality, but since it's so cheap compared to many others that do not offer the same set up I went for it. I just received it and mounted it, and I must say, I could not be happier. All the joints seem to be of very good quality and the rig feels very good on the shoulder. I still have to mount all the accessories and camera on it, but so far I can tell it's going to be good. I will eventually
film a video review ones I complete all the set up!
I have to mention that I had great assistance from the shipper, after I made a second order by mistake, they responded promptly and were very helpful and courteous.
I ended up buying the monitor, the sennheiser shotgun mic, matte box and FF here on Amazon, all great quality and very professional looking stuff, at the end the whole set up came to cost around 1150.00 as opposed to maybe over 2000 at the store.
