great bracket at this time

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3VMVLY7GEHVQN okay, first off I dinged it one star because of price and because of not being able to have a bigger base plate to allow you to put down your camera.
It is smooth and I felt like mine may have been a hair out of 90 degree position (but, I quickly worked with that)... It also has this hook front, which I am guess is for holding camera (as that is what i used it for mostly)... it felt kind of comfortable there.
To answer a few others question, it CAN be configured to take a battery pack (you simple flip the bracket upside down as instructions demonstrate.
This is made by a company out of Cleveland, Ohio and they sell a few optional items that work with this unit.
It is one of the best existing systems for fast flipping of your camera and having a flash attached or should I say above your lens and not along side of it and not having to bounce your light on one side of your subject(s).
It does
hold the weight of a 600 series canon flash I used on it and only slipped out of "locked" position a few times...
Number one is NO pinch points like the other flip designs -- NO MORE PINCHED SKIN --
I think they should sell if for $150.00 and put everyone else out of the market on this product or the Chinese need to copy this darn think and make a ton of money... it really is that right of an idea.
Would I recommend it at this price -- sure would if you are a professional and you are if you are looking at this bracket... you will not be sorry you blew all that money on a little bracket.

UPDATE: I contacted seller and they answered phone directly and we talked about design... ball bearing track and have been selling for 5 years now and the front piece I was informed was for lens (not sure how
that works as it is too low in one position but maybe with the battery pack on camera it will be just right - does not matter to me).

Ready to use and more useful than expected

I bought this bracket to replace a Press-T. I wanted a bracket that flips the camera easily to keep the flash in the same position. This bracket worked perfectly. The slight drawback to the camera attachment clip to the tripod is that I have a larger 5DII with a heavy lens, and I have to make sure I have steady hands to make the connection. It's great after that. The bracket works perfectly and is more useful than I expected. I've used it for many portrait shoots now and the cost is definitely worth it. No harsh shadow or red eye. Balance is great with the left grip. Use indoors and out!

A must have bracket if you are a wedding or event photographer.

I purchased this bracket because I wanted a better bracket for wedding and event photography. I have a Strabo-frame flip bracket now. The problem I was having is I have a vertical battery grip on my Cannon T3i, and when you turn the camera vertical the top of the camera rubs up against the bracket and you have to force the camera down on the bracket. This is not good.
This bracket solves my problems and it a much better build bracket. Yes it will cost you five times more than a Strabo Frame, but as my late mother said "In the end you pay for what you get"
