I thought of this too late to send it to you with the info on MW assault
weapons being intro to LA jails. As this is the same geographic
location where I experienced that massive MW assault on me in S.
Pasadena on the night of November 19th, 1996, I would greatly appreciate
if you attach the below. (It is also retrievable by typing in the title
into the google search engine. At least it was moments ago!) Couldn't
some of the victims of this legally sanctioned MW targeting finish up
with similar EHS symptoms?

Best, Imelda, Cork.

EHS FROM PASSIVE AND TARGETED EXPOSURES

I've just finished putting these excerpts together, moving from the
most recent backwards to 1996, based on my experiences of passive and
targeted EMF exposure. You are welcome to post it online. I am sure
many of our fellow activists have had similar experiences.

Best, Imelda, Cork.

SEPTEMBER, 2006
UPDATE ON MY EHS (electrohypersensitive) CONDITION SUBMITTED TO MY DOCTOR
HANDWRITTEN SUBMISSION: MONDAY, AUGUST 22, 2006
TYPED SUBMISSION: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2006
o SLEEP DISTURBANCE: WHILE GETTING TO SLEEP/WHEN DROWSY EXPERIENCE BRAIN
SEIZURES/ELECTRIC DISTURBANCES/ELECTRIC SHORTCIRCUITING OF MY BRAIN.
SOMETIMES AWAKEN SUDDENLY AT ANY HOUR DURING THE NIGHT AND AM FULLY
ALERT AND AWAKE THEN AS IF IT WERE DAYTIME. MIGHT FALL OFF TO SLEEP
AGAIN DURING THE NIGHT BUT COULD EXPERIENCE ABNORMAL BRAIN ELECTRICAL
DISTURBANCES. THIS ABNORMAL BRAIN ACTIVITY HAPPENED AS RECENTLY AS EARLY
MONDAY MORNING, AUGUST 22. SOMETIMES IT FEELS LIKE A DULL THUD OR BLOW
WITHIN MY BRAIN. OTHERTIMES IT FEELS LIKE A FUSE BLOWING IN MY BRAIN
OR AS IF IT IS BEING TOTALLY ELECTRIFIED. BUT IT DOESN’T SEEM TO AFFECT
MY THINKING—AT LEAST AT A CONSCIOUS LEVEL.

N.B. DO NOT EXPERIENCE THESE BRAIN SEIZURES DURING THE DAY WHEN VERTICAL
OR SEATED, EXCEPTION: IN THE PAST, HAVE EXPERIENCED THEM OCCASSIONALLY
DURING THE DAY WHEN I DOZED OFF IN A CHAIR WHILE READING.

o NUMBNESS: USUALLY AT NIGHT, WHEN LYING DOWN, AND DROWSY OR WHILE
ASLEEP. THIS NUMBNESS USUALLY AFFECTS MY FINGERS AND ESPECIALLY MY
LITTLE FINGERS. ONCE I BECOME CONSCIOUS OF THE NUMBNESS OF MY
FINGERS/FOCUS ON THEM AND THEIR NUMBNESS, THE NUMBESS RECEDES QUICKLY
AND I REGAIN FULL FEELING IN THEM. WHEN AMBIENT EMR LEVELS ARE STRONG
(AND I CAN GUAGE EMR AMBIENT LEVELS FROM THE LEVEL OF SEVERITY OF MY
TINNITUS) THEN THE NUMBNESS IN MY FINGERS BECOMES MORE EXTENSIVE.

o TINNITUS/MICROWAVE/EMR HEARING: WORSE IN THE EVENINGS FROM C.
7.00-8.00 PM ONWARDS AND PROGRESSING STRONGER TO C. MIDNIGHT. ALSO SEEMS
STRONGER IN THE WINTER WHEN STREET LIGHTS, ETC COME ON EARLIER AND
MORE DOMESTIC USE OF ELECTRICITY. SOMETIMES I HEAR FREQUENCIES COMING
THROUGH AND THEN FADING AWAY/MOVING AWAY AGAIN. OTHERTIMES I FEEL
PULSED FREQUENCIES COMING THROUGH MY AURAL TRACT AND SENSE/FEEL THESE
ESPECIALLY DURING NIGHTS AND EARLY MORNINGS. THESE AT TIMES, WHEN
SEVERE, HAVE FELT LIKE METAL PING-PONG BALLS BOUNCING OFF THE INSIDE OF
MY HEAD

o INTERMITTENT JABS OF PAIN IN MY THYROID AREA WHERE I HAD SURGERY C.
1992 WHILE LIVING IN PASADENA, CA. FEEL SIMILAR SHARP INTERMITTENT PAIN
IN VARIOUS PARTS OF MY BODY, ESPECIALLY MY FEET AND HANDS.

o LEG CRAMPS: THIS IS A FAIRLY RECENT SYMPTOM. EARLY FRIDAY MORNING,
AROUND 2.00 AM OF AUGUST 25, I WAS ASLEEP ON AN UPPER BUNK BED IN A
BELFAST HOSTEL. THE WOMAN BELOW ME AND THE OTHER OCCUPANT IN THE LOWER
BUNK NEARBY DID HAVE ACTIVE CELLPHONES. THE FRAMES AND SPRINGS OF THE
BUNK BEDS WERE METAL. I AWOKE AND SHIFTED IN MY UPPER BUNK BED. WHEN I
SHIFTED MY LEGS I FELT THE MOST EXCRUCIATING AND MOVEMENT-DETERRING
CRAMPS IN EXACTLY THE SAME POSITION IN THE CALVES OF BOTH LEGS. I WAS
LOCKED INTO THAT POSITION/COULDN’T MOVE FOR PERHAPS 30 SECONDS. THEN I
MOVED MY LEGS AND IMMEDIATELY THE CRAMPS DISAPPEARED. THIS HASN’T
RECURRED. I HAD OFTEN SLEPT IN SIMILAR BUNK BEDS, BOTH UPPER AND LOWER,
IN THE SAME HOSTEL AND THIS HAD NEVER OCCURRED BEFORE. HOWEVER, I
FELT THE EMR LEVELS WERE ALSO VERY HIGH THAT EVE AND NIGHT AND FELT
SOME ANOMALOUS BRAIN ACTIVITY/FREQUENCY DISTURBANCES.

o DIFFICULTY BREATHING AT TIMES: IT FEELS AS IS I HAVE TO SIGH DEEPLY
AND CONSCIOUSLY FORCE AIR INTO MY LUNGS. THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW
OCCASSIONS OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS OR SO WHEN SUDDENLY I JUST STOPPED
BREATHING FOR A FEW SECONDS.

o HEART STRAIN: ON A FEW OCCASSIONS RECENTLY FELT PAIN ACROSS MY CHEST.
ALSO CAN GET HEART FLUTTERING
(FRIBULATION) AT TIMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN EMR (ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION)
LEVELS ARE STRONG OR/AND THERE ARE A LOT OF CELLPHONES AROUND.

EXCERPTS FROM MY 2006 DIARY NOTING PARTICULARLY SEVERE SYMPTOMS
o DURING NIGHT OF 9-10 JUNE: THERE WAS A SUBSTANTIAL STORM WITH THUNDER
AND LIGHTNING ON THURSDAY NIGHT HAD VERY SEVERE STRONG SEIZURE AROUND
MIDNIGHT AND AGAIN AT C. 3.00 AM.

o AFTERNOON OF SUNDAY, JULY 2: WHILE LYING ON MY BED, READING, DURING
AFTERNOON, FELT VERY DROWSY. DOZED, BUT THEN SHOT AWAKE BY SHARP,
STRONG, “LASER” STYLE BEAM RACING/CUTTING/ SWEEPING THROUGH MY BRAIN.

o DURING NIGHT OF SUNDAY, JULY 2 TO EARLY MORNING OF MONDAY, JULY 3:
LOTS OF BRAIN FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE. VERY STRONG TINNITUS/EMR NOISE
THROUGH EARS. HAD TO WEAR ALUMINIUM TURBAN FOR SOME PROTECTION.

o DURING NIGHT OF JULY 21-22 SEVERE ELECTRICAL BRAIN
DISTURBANCES/INTERFERENCES. FELT VERY STRONG EMR/TINNITUS. AT ONE STAGE
FELT AS IF IT WERE A HUGE “THUD” OR “BLOW” INSIDE/WITHIN MY BRAIN, AS
IF ALL THE E-CIRCUITS IN MY BRAIN WERE BEING AFFECTED. WORE ALUMINIUM
HELMET.

o DURING EARLY MORNING C. 200 AM OF AUGUST 25, IN BELFAST. I HAVE
NOTED THIS ABOVE UNDER CRAMPS

E-HARRASSMENT
The below is posted online at "Citizens Initiative Omega" (via Google)
with date 15/02/2003. (Posted c. half way down but obscured for some
reason due to my heading being deleted and beginning of my text pushed
up toward end of entry immediately above.)

Yesterday, under the heading "Occupational Exposure to RF/MW and
Microwave Sickness" you posted Kathy Hawk's account of the Doe family's
adverse experiences with RF/MWs. I noticed with particular interest
Kathy's observation that it was most likely during the time the
"'independent'" measurements were taking place that "the facility
appeared not operating at full capacity" and cellphone users found their
phones wouldn't work within a radius of some miles. In other words,
the power source appeared deliberately to be turned down to ensure
desired results.

I would like to share my experiences with what would appear to be the
opposite: the strength being deliberately turned up and used as a form
of harassment. This occured just about a year ago.

And I bet my experience is not an isolated one!
Best, Imelda, Cork, Ireland

My journal entries on a severe EHS week
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1 to c. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2002
FRIDAY (FEB. 1). Yesterday, I engaged in a certain action online that
resulted in our EHS condition being brought directly to the attention of
an unnamed Irish telecom network. [Addendum May 2007: I opened an
email address with Eircom and named it ESISREAL @eircom. Admittedly,
what I did was a bit cheeky. Among my first emails was one to Trevor
Sargent, leader of the Irish Green Party, about the proposed
parliamentary questions on what various governmental ministers intended
doing to help Irish electrosensitives.]

Below is an account of its [Eicom's] e-response. Or perhaps it was just
a co-incidence that the below started within 24 hours of my
confrontation with it on our EHS issue.

Today, Friday, February 1, ushered in unusually high/severe radiation
levels in my place of residence a housing estate) in a town, c. ten
miles from Cork. It was the worst for c. two years. Especially strong
after 8.00 P.M. Had a number of brain short circuits/seizures as I lay
in bed before eventually dropping off to sleep.

SATURDAY NIGHT, FEBR. 2 was similar. I'd rate the ambient radiation
pretty strong (c. 8/10) from 9.00 P.M. Had to wear aluminium helmet
again in bed and still had a series of brain seizures.

On MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4 returned from Cork c. 5.00 P.M. and the radiation
levels in the house here seemed unusually high, even at that early
hour. Cork had been just fine. The levels got progressively more severe
during the eve. Lots of inward airwave suction (most probably, the
usual microwaves/radio frequencies) through my ears throughout the eve.
Tried to read in bed with the tinfoil helmet firmly in place but each
time I started falling off to sleep I'd get a sharp short-circuiting of
my brain/brain seizures. A bad night's sleep again. Very broken and
many quick seizures.

TUESDAY MORNING, FEBR. 6: Radiation levels fairly low as they usually
are in the mornings here. But when I returned from Cork (where again
levels were very tolerable) to the house here, c. 4.45 P.M., the ambient
radiation levels were already very forceful and uncomfortable and felt
lots of inward airwave suction (MW/RFs) through my ears.

TUESDAY NIGHT, FEBR. 5 TO WEDNESDAY MORNING, FEBR. 6: A terrible
night--hideously awful. Felt as if I were under some kind of microwave
siege right through the night with no letting up. Signals kept moving
swiftly inwards through my aural tract and felt as if they were going
ping, like metal balls, off the centre of my brain and then resonating
throughout my brain. Just as one would fade out another would come
through and each time it really hurt deep inside my brain. Then I also
had brain seizures right throughout the night. Of course, I wore the
aluminium helmet throughout. Felt wrecked in the morning and my eyelids
were all puffy and violet. The upper contour of my left eyelid looked
very odd--it had become twisted in shape like a very crooked line. It
returned to normal by later in the day. The other occupant of this
small house, said that she didn't sleep all through Tuesday night to
Wednesday morning but she put it down to being wound up after a
supervisor monitored her work. She also remarked, though, that one of
her eye's appeared as if it were developing a sty. She had never had
this ailment before and was unsure what she should do. She thought that
this might be due to laptop screen distress but wasn't sure. I didn't
mention my violet and puffy eyelids and odd contour of left eye lid.
(My housemate adamantly refuses to consider anyone could possibly be
affected by radiation or electricicy). On Thursday she mentioned that
her "sty" had disappeared.

On Wednesday morning I telephoned the Southern Health Board and asked
for an appointment with the person in charge of GMS contracts. (That
means General Medical Services--the GPs who treat public patients). I
relayed that I had had a really quite dangerous night of continuous
brain seizures from high radiative levels and MW/RFs bombarding me
throughout the night. When I turned up for the appointment in Cork was
told she had a meeting and couldn't see me. Met another S. Health Board
employee instead but it was most unsatisfacory. Didn't get past the
door. My most urgent query, I said to her, was trying to locate a G.P.
who would take my brain seizures and what is causing them seriously and
help me attain an early appointment with a neurologist who specialises
in seizures, either within Ireland or in another EU country. As THE
IRISH TIMES had reported (in profile article on EU commissioner, David
Byrne whose brief includes health that appeared in Friday, Febr. 1, p.
13) ". . . patients are entitled to treatment in another EU country, at
the expense of their own health authority, if they face undue delays
at home." Felt really dejected and depleted in energy as I headed back
to where I live. Felt I could die any night from severe brain seizures
and this Irish Southern Health Service couldn't careless.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT, FEBR. 6 TO THURS. FEBR. 7: High levels again throughout
Thursday night. Fully awake from c. 2.00 A.M. to 4.30 A.M. Then
drowsed off and shot awake shortly afterwards by signals coming through
my aural tract. The first of these came through very clearly at exactly
5.00 A.M. I became alert and checked the time. Then was drifting off
to sleep again when I was shot awake by a new batch of signals. Again
checked time and it was exactly 5.30 A.M. The third time I was awoken by
strong signals coming through ws precisely at 6.00 A.M. Each time the
signals comae through my aural tract I got a brain seizure/a short
circuiting of my brain.

Tel. the Dublin Head Office of BRAINWAVE--THE IRISH EPILEPSY ASSOCIATION
and spoke to the Information Officer there. She had never heard of
electrosensitivity so said I'd send her a packet of info. She was unsure
what the medical convention is for validation that a patient is really
getting seizures. It's easier to determine this when it's epilepsy and
there are witnesses to the epileptic episode.

Need to get a neurologist urgently and get EEG tests done. No brain
could stand up to the punishment that I have outlined above, without
getting irreparably damaged.

SUNDAY MORNING, FEBR. 10: Not as severe a night as earlier ones this
past week, although radiative levels did shoot up c. 9.00 P.M. Woke to
signals coming through just after 5.00 A.M. Not so severe right now.
It's 1.55 P.M. Yesterday, had to stop using my laptop after ten minutes
in the afternoon because the radiation was too strong. Now, it's
somewhat more tolerable. But physically I look wrecked from ordeal of
last week.

MONDAY MORNING, FEBR. 11 It was a surprisingly OK night but wore the
tinfoil helmet just in case. Woke a few times but got back to sleep.
Woke to some signals coming through after 5.00 A.M. Feel OK and have
been able to use the laptop for a longer period than I could throughout
all of last week.

2001
I wrote up the following account of my EHS symptoms c. 2001. The
particularities of my adverse reactions have not changed significantly
since then. The statement doesn't include all my adverse bio-reactions
to EMR.

First, as I am now aware of what aggravates my condition, I take
reasonable steps to avoid these situations and e-equipment excitants.
For instance, I have eliminated all T.V. viewing for over a year
(although the radiation from a turned on T.V. in another room, can still
affect me); I confine use of my laptop to early mornings and when I
use computers in other libraries, I restrict my time and take long
walks after use. Generally, being outdoors and walking help a lot. I
know the level of my bio-reactions to all electronic and
electromagnetic types of equipment from that "sizzling" (tinnitus)in my
aural tract. The strength of that sound corresponds to the strength of
the radiative levels that I am exposed to and also lets me know how
much my body has absorbed. It acts as a valuable guage for me because
if I just sit and read after such radiative exposure or lie down and
read prior to drifting off to sleep,I get seizures/electric short
circuits through my brain. And some of these brain
short-circuits/seizures are so strong I wonder how much damage they are
doing to my brain. So far, however, they appear not to adversely
affect my thinking--in fact, I wake up very sharply focused/clear
thinking with an increase in intellectual vigour more than anything
else. But still, they--the "seizures"--are so abnormal I can't but
wonder how my brain can keep taking all of this.

A few times it has felt as if my entire cerebral grey matter was being
gelled and then shot through with electricity. I'll return to writing on
these brainshort circuits later in this update.

Tinnitus (metallic "sizzling" through my aural tract)is the symptom I
experience without fail when near or using some electric/electronic
equipment. For instance, when at my laptop, as this is the only
equipment that I use consistently c. 5 mornings a week. (I rarely if
ever can use it here at weekends because the ambient levels in this
housing estate are so strong it would dangerously increase my overload.
The synergistic effects of manmade radiation can not be emphasised
strongly enough. That is what causes the ambient levels here to surge
right through from Friday night. They also surge every evening from c.
6-7.00 P.M. getting progressively stronger by the hour.)

So, what exactly are my bio-effects, other than that uncomfortable
sizzling through the aural tract, when I am at my laptop for more than a
half hour or so? I'll preface my entry on these by remarking that many
of the symptoms need not be consistently so, but occur often enough to
make them noteworthy.

1. Pins-and-needles sensation which can lead to numbness. This can occur
in my fingers which are using the keyboard and sometimes in my feet.
The finger that most consistently goes numb is the little finger of my
right hand. Occasionally, I have felt muscle pain in my hands when at
the keyboard.

2. I experiece sharp pain, at times, in the thyroid area where I had
surgery to have a benign lump/goitar removed c. 1993, while living in
Pasadena, CA, (I have read that thyroid malfunction, either hyper or
hypo, can indicate a disposition to electrosensitivity. My condition of
hypo-thyroidism was diagnosed c. 1985.) Before dental treatment, last
year, when I had a small gum infection that had loosened a molar and
amalgam fillings (these have now been removed) I felt pain in those areas.

Once I had appropriate dental care, I no longer experienced this pain
while using a computer. However, at times, my gums can still feel a bit
swollen after use--but this is very mild to what it was before dental
treatment.

Generally, I would say that the radiation adversely interacts with what
appear to be weak or damaged areas of my body and this effect is
consistent.

3. Sometimes I get palpitations and small darts of electric shocks.
These occur in my head--usually in the crown area--but I have also felt
mild shocks in other parts of my body. I can also feel jabbing pains
in my outer ears. This symptom also occurs near active cellphones and
other strong active e-equipment. Recently, I've felt nauseous sometimes
when using computers.

4. When I have finished using a computer the tinnitus continues at this
increased strength for some time. (This is similar, in a way, to how
the radiation effect kicks in and causes electric disturbances in the
brain during the first half hour or so of sleep AFTER having been
exposed to radiation prior to sleep.)

5. When I finish using a computer, often I involuntarily yawn a lot, and
can feel drained.

THE SEIZURES/SHORT CIRCUITS THROUGH MY BRAIN:
This is a consistent effect that I am quite sure I would come out at
100% accuracy in any blind tests to validate what I am saying. (That
radiation strength guage--my aural sizzling--would also get a very high
score in any blind tests. I can say this with total confidence.)

The brain short circuits I experience are directly related to the levels
of radiation I have been exposed to. Again, I know just how strong
these are from the strength of that metallic-sounding sizzling. Usually,
I experience these short circuits when lying down reading prior to
sleep. I go to bed quite early around 9.00 P.M. As I have said above,
the ambient radiative levels where I live get progressively stronger in
the evenings. After 9.00 P.M. they are usually pretty strong. While
lying in bed with my head slightly propped and reading, I can feel an
induced drowsiness from these radiative levels. Then I experience the
equivalent of a light bulb or a fuse blowing right inside and stretching
across my head, in the cortex region. It's just like a short circuit
right inside it. During the actual short circuit I feel as if my brain
is lifting up--a lightness or momentary partial unconsciousness--until
it passes. Some nights when the radiation levels are strong, I can
experience a whole series of these short circuits. They occur too when I
am in a light sleep. Last Friday night, March 30, [2001] was pretty
severe. I had about four hours during the night of my brain being short
circuited from the strong levels of radiation. I also feel a mild
inward air suction through my ears when the radiation levels are high.
Sometimes I hear a metallic/electronic type click-click (something
like a watch's tick-tick)in my outer ear, especially the right ear. I
put on an ear hugging aluminium helmet I keep beside the bed and this
stops that inward air effect and seems to dull the intensity of the
short circuits. But it doesn't ever stop them nor alleviate the numb
feeling I can experience right at crown and back of my head.
Occasionally, I feel an alarmingly strong electric short circuit that
feels as if the entire grey matter of my brain is being shot through
with an electric volt. I should mention that I can discern signals as
well and some of these seem to momentarily change my own brain waves.
There is a strangeness, a lightness, a feeling as if the interior of my
head is lifting up, when some of those signals come through my aural
tract. Sometimes, it is the signals that wake me in the early morning
c. 5.00 A.M. or earlier.

On Wednesday evening, April 4, I foolishly used my laptop for c. 30
minutes. I walked to the local store after this, to reduce the sizzling.
But I suffered when I lay down to sleep. I was just drifting off when
my sister switched on the light in her bedroom next door to the small
room where I sleep. That action--that is the sudden surge of
energy--shot right through my head and in fact, this time, I could see
and experience the white light right inside my head. It bolted me fully
awake and alert.

There have been occasions, during the day, but far less frequent than at
night while lying in bed, when I would also experience an induced
dozing effect with subsequent brain short-circuits. These would take
Place while seated and usually while reading. This happened last Tuesday
afternoon, April 3, right here in my sister's house. I had returned
from Cork city earlier than usual. It was c. 3.00 P.M. and immediately
I felt the radiative levels in this neighbourhood and then in the house
were far higher than in Cork. Uncomfortably so. I decided to read in
the front livingroom for a while. Before long (c. 10 minutes) I felt
an induced drowsiness and then mild short circuits started racing
through my brain. Also, I could clearly hear various signals coming
through. So, I got up and ran a shower to try and reduce my saturation.
Then I soaked in a bath with sea salt. It kind of helped.

ABOUT WIRELESS FORMS SUCH AS MOBILE PHONES:
The bio-effects I feel from these are inconsistent. I use buses as
transport and most of the kids on these now have mobiles. Sometimes
they effect me a lot. When they do, I experience them as random darts
hitting just about any part of my body. I have felt these jabs in my
ankles, my back, my neck, my thighs, my butt, my head, and more
frequently right in my eyeballs. Body parts that I have never felt
before can be electrified into consciousness! Then palpitations may
accompany these. There have been some occasions when on a train and
beside passengers with active cell phones that I felt an induced
drowsiness, and on occasion I just could not stop yawning and felt
drained. (Similar to one of the effects I have noted above on how
computers affect me.)

SUBJECT: Part of info sent in response to an enquiry
Date: Fri, 21 Sep 2001 11:04:22 +0000
IN THE STATEMENT BELOW I POINT UP HOW COMMON IT IS TO MISDIAGNOSE EHS
(ELECTROHYPERSENSITIVITY)

Of course governments are in no hurry to correct this appaling
diagnostic situation for EHS victims! The lucre from the same source
that causes EHS comes first. Too bad for some of us that our health is
compromised!

How extensive is such medical misdiagnosis of electrosensitives as
psychotics/schizophrenics? Well, it's not that I have wonderful
statistics on this with me today, but I do have beside me a response
letter I received from what could be a typical Irish psychologist (his
credentials are: M.B. B.A., M.R.C. Psch.) who is professionaly treating
schizophrenia and mental illnesses at one of Ireland's best known
Dublin hospitals. I had sent him lots of information on ES together
with my own experiences of the condition. This psychologist qualified
in the 1970's, that is prior to the advent of ES. (Our illness, with
some exceptions, is essentially a post 1990's phenomenon.) He was one
of the many top ranking mental health specialisits that I wrote to to
present my ES case history and petition independent evaluations (that
is of my mental health) from them in support of my legal case. No one
would even give me an interview to meet with him/her! The usual excuses
were: no space in schedule or/and do not know anything about
electrosensitivity, so can't give a professional opinion. But this
psychologist went even further in his response to my request. This is
exactly what he wrote after letting me know he was too busy to see me:

". . . I have however read your enclosed account of the onset of your
difficulties and subsequent events as you have experienced them.
Obviously what you have been through has been quite difficult and no
doubt distressing for you. Professionally of course I have no expertise
in the effects of ElectroMagnetic radiation. I would however in all
honesty have to reflect back to you that your account of events as
experienced in your home in Pasadena in 1996 would be in keeping with
some what similar accounts reported to me by patients of mine whom I
would diagnose as suffering from schizophrenia, paranoid type.

I understand that this of course is not what you may wish to hear me
saying. In addition of course I have not met with you nor studied your
medical or psychiatric case notes, but in all honesty I think it
appropriate to offer you my clinical impression and hope that this may
be in your long term interest."

Now, what do you think of that for a professional psychologist? The
worthiness of a life is to be tossed aside with a flippant diagnosis?
And just how many may this "professional" have misdiagnosed in that
leading Dublin hospital?

Related to this, I came across in a book entitled, HUMAN RIGHTS: A
EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE (1994)an article by Tom Cooney on Human Rights
challenges to Psychiatry and Law. In this he states that "many studies
show that the validity and reliability of psychiatric diagnoses or
formulations are poor. Reliabilty refers to the degree to which two or
more psychiatrists will agree about a conclusion given a certain set of
facts. Validity is the degree to which psychiatrists' conclusions
match reality. Psychiatrists often disagree on broad diagnostic
judgments and even on specific diagnoses." (p 131)

You asked how many have brought legal actions similar to mine. Probably
I am the first with a case of this nature--at least in Ireland. As I
said to you yesterday, even Professor Brice Dickson, Chief Commissioner
of N. Ireland HR Commission, let me know how impossible it was for
some persons who felt they were also misdiagnosed as being mentally ill
to even get lawyers to take on their cases. That is why psychiatry and
related mental health professions are the most dangerous of all within
the medical profession when it comes to misdiagnosis and putting a
patient on the wrong diagnostic conveyor belt. I just happen to be a
tremendous fighter who never gives in. I've been a strong outspoken
Human Rights advocate on many issues for many years and I just never
give up, it doesn't matter how intimidating or near-to-hopeless a
situation seems.

Here is what I wrote to an Irish Court Registrar about my fruitless
petitions for legal help, in my medical negligence case.

"Due to the nature of my case . . . I have to self-represent in court.
It is my understanding of Irish law that I have a right to a fair trial
and to access to justice. Judgment in the AIREY v IRELAND case upheld
this right and subsequently civil Legal Aid was introduced in Ireland,
to ensure there was access to justice.

But I have been refused Irish legal aid and also refused it on appeal. I
have spent almost two years appealing desperately to ALL legal
agencies, in Ireland, for help on bringing my grievance to court. And I
have been refused, right up to closing time on the Friday evening
(Dec. 8, 1999) that preceded my court appearance on Dec. 11 for
petitioning an extension of time for serving papers on my defendants.
My penultimate telephone call, on that Friday, was to the Department of
Justice to ask for a solicitor being put at my disposal to seek the
extension. I was refused on the grounds that the Dep. of Justice does
not interfere with court proceedings. My final call was to the Irish
Human Rights Legal Council. I was refused help. I asked straight out:
Have I petitioned every legal agency available to an Irish citizen to
help her to see justice when her constitutional rights have been
grieviously violated. Yes, indeed, was the reply, there is no legal
protection/help for you forthcoming!"

Before I leave this subject of my medical misdiagnosis I will let you
know that when I read my medical notes (which, by the way, I had to
fight another battle on paper to be given these by the new Irish Freedom
of Information medical board, est. 1998, as they considered my
diagnosis suggested that I might be an emotionally fragile type!) I
discovered to my horror that the doctor who wrote the lengthiest review
of me and stated unequivocally that it was her professional opinion
that I was a paranoid schizophrenic was not even qualified to make such
judgments. She was a twenty five year old medical tyro, who had just
got her basic M.D. and was doing a six month internship stint at the
psychiatric wing of Cork University Hospital. She hadn't even looked me
in the eye, nor spoke more than a few sentences, during my sole session
with her! The other doctors kept my diagosis to psychoses, if I
remember properly. [I have excluded from my court documents any mention
of the very perplexing and humiliating physical examination I was
subjected to by the attending admissions male doctor straight after he
finished consulting with my sister and got me to hastily sign some
document, which years later I found out was the form for voluntary
admissions! Even though there was absolutely no mention of me having
any lump in my breast he insisted on a protracted hand examination of
my naked breasts while looking steadily into my eyes. There was a
female nurse present but she stationed herself further away beside the
window in the narrow dark examination room and he had his back to her
and she could not see what was going on! I found his lengthy
touching/fondling of my breasts extremely odd and humiliating,
something I had not felt before when being examined by male physicians.
The essential reason that this male admissions doctor was omitted from
my list of medical defendants was because when I telephoned the
hospital to check his identity/name I was told no such male doctor by
that name had worked there! And I was up against time for getting my
papers registered in court, so I couldn't pursue the facts of his
identity further.]

To turn to other electrosensitives. Have they also been misdiagnosed as
having basically psychological or psychiatric illnesses? Yes--an
unqualified yes! And I have written proof of what I am saying from the
many completed questionaires I sent to major ES support groups
internationally. The response was in unison: electrosensitivity is not
recognised as a distinct illness, neither by the government nor the
official medical organisation of that particular country. The illness is
regarded as psychological/psychiatric. I'll quote for you below a
relevant excerpt from a briefing paper I gave an Irish journalist some
months ago:

. . . In Germany, for instance, electrosensitivity is conveniently
categorised as essentially a mental health problem. Recently, I was
forwarded a German article on this issue, with an accompanying English
summary: "In Germany, in general, illness resulting from exposure to
electromagnetic fields and other environmental hazards is not officially
recognised and there is a growing trend in Germany to classify and
diagnose persons suffering from electrosensitivity and unable to work as
a result as psychiatric patients which has now been officially
embraced by the law (recent health reforms). According to the article,
persons suffering from environmental illnesses have three options:

1. The illness is not recognised and the patient has to undergo regular
checks to see if he/she is able to return to work.

2. If the person admits to imagining the symptoms and suffering from
psychiatric disturbances, he/she may be entitled to a small pension.

3. The person asserts that the illness is related to his/her occupation
and gets compensation pension.

The economic interests of pharmaceutical industry is given as the main
motive behind all of this."

To turn to the U.S.A. where the illness, electrosensitivity, is again
not recognised by mainstream medicine. An author of a number of books on
electrosensitivity and who is herself quite severely electrosensitive
in a letter of 3/2/00 stated: " Because it[electrosensitivity] is not
formally recognised as an illness, disability benefits can be
difficult . . . I have recommended to some ES [electrosensitives] that
if they have symptoms which would allow a disability status, to apply
for it without indicating under what conditions the symptoms occur
(electromagnetic exposure.) It seems that if a person did not know they
were ES and applied for disability they could get the benefits if they
had significant symptoms. That we know why should not count against us,
but often does. (Focus on symptoms rather than cause.)"

In Japan it is sadly not much different from the others. An
electrosensitive long time resident there, states in a recent letter
that she has met with a leader of one of the largest ES support
netowrks, in Japan, and he has informed her that ". . . many ERVs
[electromagnetic radiation victims] come to him for help because doctors
treat their condition as a mental illness. Most will not talk about
their condition. They are ashamed. The culture considers victimization a
sign of bad karma."

Below is the text of my reply to an ES sufferer, living in southern
Ireland who requested information on ES, following my published letter
on this topic, in the Irish national broadsheet, THE EXAMINER, on June
12, 1999.

First I'll transcribe my letter, as it appeared in THE EXAMINER [now
called the IRISH EXAMINER], June 12, 1999.)

"BRIGHT FUTURE MAY BE BLINDING
Ennis is a town I visit frequently, as close family members live there.
Loving the place, I felt very happy to read (THE EXAMINER, June 8) how
well it has adapted to its new electronic life style. There is just
one cautionary point I wish to make. Some people may suffer ill effects
from prolonged exposure to electromagnetic radiation, and there is no
specialist in the town to diagnose and treat these people. I have
developed sensitivity to EMR in recent years and my relatives in Ennis
have witnessed how severely it can effect me in their home. When I
requested a Green Party MEP for a referral to a medical specialist on
EMR in Ireland, the person to whom I was referred resides outside our
state. It would appear vital that Ennis, wired to the hilt as it is,
should seek out a specialist in EMR as soon as possible, to avoid the
horrors of misdiagnosis of EMR symptoms. Also information on precautions
residents can take to avoid excessive exposure to EMR should be issued
to each household. The following analogy may serve to point out that
while a discovery may enhance the quality of life of the majority, it
may have adverse effects on others. Penicillin was a discovery that
benefits the lives of innumerable people lbut for others it is lethal.

Following, is my response to the Irish ES person where I describe my
severe ES symptoms, at that time

Dear ____________
You asked me to explain the bio-effects we experience from
electromagnetic radiation. I think the enclosed sheets will give you a
good idea what electromagnetic objects could affect you, and how you
would feel their

ill-effects. Some people may never get affected, in the same way many
never getallergies. But some of us are electromagnetic sensitives, and
we react badly to a number of electrically generated types of equipment.
For instance, florescent lights, within seconds, activate a
buzzing/metallic/sizzling sound in my aural tract. I can only sit in
libraries for less than half an hour, before taking a break outside,
because of these lights. Now, I rarely, if ever watch T.V., because of
similar metallic type sound, sizzling ever more loudly, in my head, the
longer I'd watch. Even my beloved laptop on which I am writing this to
you must not be overdone. I have the window fully open behind it, but
must stop after a half hour or so, or I will be affected.

And so it goes with other electrical/electromagnetic objects; I have to
be very cautious and curtail use. Sometimes being near cell phoines
(this has happened to me many times on public transport--especially,
long distance journeys) cn cause me heart arrythmia, darting or stabbing
random pains, and that sizzling sensation in my head. If I am
over-exposed to electromagnetic radiation and I start going to sleep, I
can feel electric currents going off in my head and these are quite
alarming. My hands or/and feet can also get saturated with radiation
while I'm asleep, and I wake up to them being numb, lifeless as twigs.
So, I wrap them, in an aluminium blanket,to counteract the radiation.
And it kind of works. I also make a thick turban of kitchen tinfoil, to
protect my headand especially my ears--because radio frequencies and
especially microwave/radio frequencies (MW/RF) were going right through
my aural tract--and I wear this turban throughout the night, to
protect myself from MW/RF during my sleeping hours. I also wear
earplugs connected to Walkman radio-tape frequencies and leave it
playing through my sleepiong hours. I find a water tape especially
soothing. And these two--the earplugs and the tinfoil/aluminium
turban--have been in use for over three months now, although they only
partially block out the piercing noise of the signals/frequencies.

Before I came up with these responses, I was being bombarded through my
ears, almost every night, for an hour or so, and electric currents
could startle me from sleep. Tinfoil, as anyone knowledgeable in this
area will tell you, helps block radiation.

I still, though, get heart palpitations that wake me up, and I know then
a radiation "assault" is under way. When this happens, I quickly cover
myself from waist to chin, in an aluminium survival blanket. Last
night, I experienced heart arrythmia--unlike the thudding-heart
sensation activated by fright, I experience the radiation sourced
arrythmia as a wave-like, back-and-forth movement of my heart--and
tingling type sensations through my body for c. two hours during the
night. That is what I call a radiation "assault." And, I hasten to add,
that I know some other sufferers who have to take exactly similar
precautions, and who are affected in similar ways.

So, you can see that the ill-effects I experience from manmade radiative
forms are pretty severe--in fact dangerous. Since Ennis became a full
electronic town (and Ireland's first) I really suffer when I visit
there. Last summer, it was so distressful that I had to ensure I had a
good stock of tranquillisers, each time I stayed in Ennis, to make it
bearable. I could only stay in the house for very brief times and could
sleep just a couple of hours a night, because the buzzing/sizzling in
my head, from the strong rdiation, was so vigorous. I could feel my
entire body tingling with electricity, and Ennis is so packed with
overhead wires and pylons, there was no relief anyplace. Of course, the
hot, fairly dry summer didn't help. A number of us who have become
sensitive to such manmade radiative equipment as cell phones, T.V.s,
computers, radios, kitchen electrical equipment, electric lawnmowers,
etc., also develop sensitivity to other radiative sources, terrestrial,
cosmic, etc.

A significant number of people, in Ireland, are sensitive to
electrosmagnetic radiation, but Irish doctors have not, as yet, been
trained in medical schools, to deal with this newly emerging illness.
There is, however, quite a lot of literature on ES on the internet, so
doctors don't have an excuse of not being aware. Just three of the many
websites that provide information on electrosensitivty are:
http://www.powerwatch.org.uk http://www.feb.se/ (the Swedish ES support
site emf...@trump.net.au .

Then you have all the cell phone companies in heavy denial because it
threatens their capacity to make mega bucks. The wireless types of
radiation, such as cell phone microwaves, are the worst for us, because
we just can't get away from them--they zap right through us, even in
our own bedrooms.

Hope the enclosed proves a little enlightening for you.
Regards,
Imelda

NOV., 1996
It--my severe EHS reactions to EMFs-- started for me in earnest on the
night of November 20th, 1996, in my former condo, in Pasadena, CA. I am
convinced that what I experienced at 11.30 PM that night as I lay in
my bed adjacent to the partitioning wall separating me from my recently
installed and newly qualified young aeronautic engineer tenant was an
energy weapon targeted directly at my brain/head. I was shot awake and
pinned to my timber-framed futon bed while frequencies were revved
through my aural tract and my head seemed to be set on fire. It felt
like a burning MW oven but I couldn't move because my body was in
shock, unmovable, pinned into position. When the power was turned down
and off (it was a power source; I could hear the frequencies being
revved up to max and levelled at me; I had been very outspoken in the
immediate weeks preceding this event about military and civilian RF
weapons abuse) then I was able to move my limbs and entire body and get
up.

When I returned to Ireland a few weeks later (mid-December) for
treatment for my now extreme EHS condition that followed this assault (I
had to sleep beside running water to somehow muffle the frequencies
that were being revved through my aural tract right through the night)
my account of that energy weapon assault of November 20th was not
believed by attending doctors. So, I was tricked into the psychiatric
section of Cork University Hospital and locked up for three weeks. Of
course my EHS symtpoms continued throughout but I was mocked when I
tried to explain that "electric shocks were going through my head." A
dreadful/appaling patient experience made even more dangerous by the
attendant psychiatrists insisting I take anti-psychotic medication
(Serenace) and their not bothering to inform me of its side-effects nor
seek my prior consent to the medication. I finished up with dangerous
side-effects and had to seek private help from a physiotherapist for
my badly frozen shoulders--caused directly by the inappropriate
administration of that medication.

Then in 1999 I decided to bring my own EHS circumstances and the whole
issue of the proliferation of MW weapons being used to target victims
out into the public and into EU Brussels committees. Got a local Irish
MEP to get my accounts plus evidence to Brussels. Wrote it up on a non
e-typewriter so my statements could not be picked up remotely before I
could get it lodged. Just about when my file got into the right hands
in Brussels (via my local MEP) I experienced
very-close-to-being-killed attacks during the following nights. On the
first night I was shot awake by a huge e-volt slicing through my entire
brain. I thought I was going to be killed. This volt was accompanied by
a distinct thud sound. Then some four hours later (c. 3.00 a.m.) I was
abruptly awakened again with another lightning volt being shot through
my head and this time it ran down the entire right side of my body. A
hospital radiologist I approached next day for advise on how I could
protect myself suggested I make a very thick turban of
tinfoil/aluminium foil. And so I did and slept in this. However, it did
not keep out the EMF assaults. I was assaulted with piercing acoustic
frequencies for a few hours every night and my body was being charged
like a battery. I'd find the crown of my head going numb when in bed
and I'd wake up with my hands numb up to and sometimes above my elbows
and my feet going numb as well. Then as this battering progressed over
the next weeks nightly, it seemed to be aimed also at getting my heart
to stop (heart attack). My heart would sway alarmingly like a pendulum
of it sown volition back and forth as if a wave were levelled on/at it.

So, I know at first hand that EHS can be developed from passive or
coverty targeted exposure to EMR (esp. MW/RF) energies. Tim Rifat in his
book REMOTE VIEWING (1999) includes a large appendix of declassified
Russian research on MW bioeffects. Well worth reading.
