SBMS0, purchased during covid lockdown, been in box never connected until today.
Posted the wiring order here and it was correct. I checked it several times.
Connected the shunts, MPPT before plugging it in.
This is only to power a small diesel heater, planning to run 24 volt to it.
No screen, does not come on. Plugged and unplugged several times.
And advice appreciated.

All seems to be connected correctly based on photos.
But I can not know if those soldered or crimped connections on the cell sense wires are OK or not. In particular the wire 1&2 on the battery negative and the wires 10&11&12 on the positive as this supply the SBMS0 with power.  There where instances where people crimped those wires and since they are so thin that is not a reliable method of connection.

So I should redo the positive and negative then I guess. I did not solder them but I can.

Yes that will be good if you can solder those two connections as then you can be sure that SBMS0 is powered. If one of those wires is not making contact the SBMS0 will just not be powered.
The other individual cells for monitoring are less relevant as once the SBMS0 powered you will be able to see if one of those is not making contact and know exactly witch one.

OK I soldered those two connection using the red+2 wires and the last 2 on the negative post.
Unmounted the unit in the case I put it in and remounted.
Still no screen. Any other suggestions? The batteries are good, fully charged.

Can you open the SBMS0 and take a photo of the main board. Maybe I can see some physical damage that can maybe be fixed easily.
If not then you will need to ship it to me so I can check and repair.

Well I imagine this is the problem - half the connections on the screen are disconnected.
I imagine I had something to do with it but did not notice it when it was happening.
Can it be repaired?

If you have a new solder tip on your iron or one that was never used with Lead Solder (just lead free) you can try if you want to solder the LCD by just adding some flux and reheating the flex cable.
That is low temperature solder so you do not need high temperature setting fro the iron below 300C
But if you send it to me I will just install a new LCD.
You only need to pay for the shipping both ways I do not charge for repairs not even for components. But it will likely take some time depending also on your location.

Yeah that is way above my pay grade, that stuff is so small that I can barely even see it.
(I'm pretty old)
Just give me the shipping address in email and I will push it asap.
