Hi

How do I access IO5 and IO6 on this WIFI module?

Thanks
Steve

Steve,

You have the new version of SBMS0 so the EXT IO5 and IO6 are on the green 16pin connector that is on the main unit not on the WiFi module as it was on the old SBMS0 model.
So EXT IO5 and IO6 are just next to the IO3 and IO4 see the label on the black PCB (make sure the black PCB orientation is correct else the labels will not line up with the correct pins).

EXT IO6 are pins 7 and 8 and EXT IO5 pins 9 and 10

Thanks for replying mate.

So do you want to install the new WiFi module on the old version of SBMS0 ?
Here is how the WiFi module for the old SBMS0 looks like and you can see the two optoisolators for IO5 and IO6 (the two 4pin black devices with the P187 written on them)

WiFi.jpg

With the new SBMS0 those two optoisolators where moved to the main board so they are no longer on the new WiFi module and those two pins coming trough the 2x8pin black connector remain unused on the new WiFi module as seen in the photo below.  You will need to add the two 1kohm resistors and the two optoisolators if you want to have access to IO5 and IO6 using the new WiFi module on the old SBMS0

Thanks again, any other consideration i should consider given the older SBMS and a newer Wifi module?

It is almost identical other than the IO5 and IO6 that where moved.
