Another WiFi question

So I just posted about monitoring.  And then decided to go look at just what I can get on the cell phone (I don't really use that feature, so it's been a long time since I've look at it).  Well, it doesn't work.

I can connect.

I get DNS and Gateway of 192.168.4.1

If I enter 192.168.4.1 into Firefox or Chrome, it times out

If I open the SBMS.html file, it gives a nice layout with no data.

What am I doing wrong?

You have the new version of SBMS0 ? The one with the 16pin green connector at the back ?

You connect what sounds like A Windows or Linux laptop or desktop to the SBMS-XXXXXXXXXXXX  access point ? You will be asked for a password to connect that will be electrodacus.

Then when you are connected entering 192.168.4.1 should result in you seeing something like this. If not it likely just means that you are not connected to SBMS0. 

But maybe sometime in the past you setup WiFi in client mode where SBMS0 connects to your main access point and then access the SBMS0 that way.

There is a small ribbon cable on the back of the Wi-Fi PCB, there are 8 micro switches underneath, check those..These were set up incorrectly on my end.

So, some more details.

I don't think basic connectivity is the issue.  I can see the SSID, I can connect to it, it shows a strong connected signal.   My device shows an IP of 192.168.4.1.

A small new detail.  Thinking it could be an issue with the Android, I brought my laptop down.  Connected, loaded 192.186.4.1, and bingo, I have live (and updating data!  Success.  For about 5 minutes.  No amount of reloading or reconnecting or anything will give me more than an empty shell of layout with no data.

The fact that I saw data for few minutes reinforces that I have some connection.  But not for long.  Is there anything in the WiFi side of the unit that can overload, or lock, or hit a stack limit, or anything?

It's not critical, I'm fully operational.  But problems are annoying.

Is likely some conflict between multiple WiFi devices on same channel or multiple requests or operating system stooping due to safety.

I will say for a long therm months or years uninterrupted connection USB will be better. So if you decide to install that Pi4 or similar computing device and it is close enough to SBMS0 to connect trough USB cable then that will be a much more reliable connection.

I have yet to upgrade to the new software (in all the excitement leading up to the release, I bought the tool and all -- and then I haven't gotten to it....LOL).  The new software has no impact on the WiFi at all, right?  So reflashing won't have any impact, right?

There is no impact on WiFi as WiFi has his own separate firmware (running on ESP32) and that did not change.
