I am installing a sungoldpower 4kw splitphase inverter and the settings for Lipo4 are charge to 3.5 (28v) and LVD at 2.625v (21v)
What is the best way to match these settings in the advanced menu of my sbms0 .
I plan to set the charge rate to 40amps (cc) and connect the charger to (2) drss20 to control the charging function for a 200a/h battery and when the drss50 arrives, I will increase my charge to 50 amps. I will use the remote control to manage the LVD with extio(3)

Hi Terry,

I would put the values for the inverter-charger above / below what ever you selected the SBMS0 so the SMB0 values kick in first and controls the inverter or charger functionality via EXTIO (assuming you have two inputs - one for load cut off and one for charger cut off).

Or can't you change the values for the inter-charger-unit?

Best,
Nils

Terry,

The inverter limits are irrelevant. The SBMS is the only one that needs to be able to stop the inverter and separately the charger.
I see that that inverter has a remote cable so you should be able to find the two wires responsible for ON/OFF  and connect those to EXT IO3 set as type 2 this way SBMS0 can stop the inverter when any cell is below default set limit (2.8V) as the inverter can not offer this protection as it only sees the total battery voltage and cells will not have equal voltages.
For charging I guess you do not have a remote ON/OFF on that model so you will need to add a SSR on the AC input so that SBMS0 EXT IO4 set as type 1 can control that SSR and disconnect the grid when battery is fully charged meaning when any cell gets to 3.55V and that can happen well before total battery voltage gets to 28V so again the charger can not know when to stop the charging not to damage the battery.

The Sungold 4000K LFP inverter/Charger, I believe you are using looks almost identical to my AIMS 3000K inverter/Charger including the Manual.

I was able to open the case and solder parallel wires to the on/off switch and to the Rotary Battery Type Selector switch.

And give the SBMS0 complete control over the Charging and on/off functions for the inverter/Charger.

The post I wrote earlier on it:https://groups.google.com/g/electrodacus/c/jAwPWd9W4B8/m/pYlPamHqAQAJ

Tks Peter
The inverter was pretty straight forward with the remote option but the charger option you came up with sounds great and I will try it also. My unit has a setting for lipo4 but I will bypass this with your option. Will post my results when tested.
