Hello to all on here, so glad I discovered yet another forum to source information on... (Newbie still at design stage with some components bought some still needed)

Basically folks, I bought two items of VE used but in very good condition. 1. 24/3000/70 inverter. 2. 150/70 MPPT Blue Solar metal cased version. I have been trying to find the right BMS for the job, to interact with the VE gear and found/ was steered to this forum..!! As an electrician with some process automation control experience behind me it's telling me I need to interface the (x2) ED BMS modules with the the inverter for LVD and the Solar charger for HVL using SSR and a bit of unknown wizardry.... Anyone been here done this..??? or Dacian..???

This is what you need to know about the Multiplus inverter charger https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Manual-Connecting-other-lithium-battery-systems-to-Multis-and-Quattros-EN.pdf
Not sure exactly what MPPT version you have the new SmartSolar  will have a 2 pin connector with a wire link and that will be the remote ON/OFF port to be used by a BMS and if not and you have the BlueSolar you will need this  https://www.victronenergy.com/accessories/ve-direct-non-inverting-remote-on-off-cable

Hi Dacian, You're probably answering millions of questions but did you get the gist of what I was asking, using two of your Electro Dacus BMS modules on a 8S2P battery bank....??? And integrating/ interfacing with the VE products... Has this been done before..??

PS; server wouldn't let me attach a file (pic)  for some reason..?

Only one SBMS0 is needed for a 8s2p battery. The battery will be made having groups of two cells in parallel (exactly the same as having a single larger capacity cell) and then 8 of those groups in series for 24V.

Hi Dacian,
That is 2P8S config and I have read many threads where you support this as a preferred setup but I have built the battery box now with 8S2P + compression plates so I cannot alter the battery config. There must be a way to incorporate TWO x BMS modules and interface with my 2 VE units..??

8s2p and 2p8s means the same thing thos 8s2p is the preferred usage.
There is no other correct configuration other than groups of two cells in parallel then 8 of those groups in series.  It is not allowed to parallel two Lithium batteries only cells can be paralleled.
Yes in DIY world there may be many examples of incorrect configurations but that is just not a proper option.
Not sure why compression plates will be any problem. I also use compression plates on my 8s10p battery see photo below. There are groups of 10 cells in parallel (in absolutely no way different from a single cell) then 8 in series tho split in to two physical groups as else it will have been to heavy to lift.

Hello again Dacian, time away with work now I need to crack this nut.... So, I'm going as per your advise 2P8S and using the electrodacus BMS controlling my Victron 3000/24/70 Inverter and Victron 150/70 Blue Solar SCC as pictured below. The remote on/off cable you also advised goes where..?? (there is the 3 terminal common/NO/NC block and some auxiliary terms on the left..??)
I'm running a 360Ah bank so what size shunt should I use and can you supply that or recommend one..???

This is the document you are interested in showing how to set up the Victron Multiplus in order to be controlled by a two wire BMS  https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Manual-Connecting-other-lithium-battery-systems-to-Multis-and-Quattros-EN.pdf
Allow to charge will be done by the EXT IO4 set as type 1 on the SBMS side and the alow to discharge will be done by EXT IO3 set as type 2
All settings for the victron assistant will be as shown in that example except for last two where you should select Disable charger.
