Hi Dacian,

I read in a couple of posts that the 60 cell panels are recommended to be used for 24V (8S LiFePO4) Battery system.
Looking at this link https://www.sunwize.com/tech-notes/60-cell-solar-modules-batteries/, Sunrise does not recommend using a 60 cell panel for that purpose.
The link to the white paper where Morningstar explains why makes kind of sense.
Basically they say the 60 cell panels do not have enough voltage to fully charge the batteries and would damage them long term.

I am now very confused about what to use for a 24V system using your DSSR20 modules.

Please could you shed some light onto that.

Thanks
Dietmar

Dietmar,

Ignore that as that refers to Lead Acid and MPPT charger that need a few Volt higher max power point for the MPPT to work. The SBMS0 + DSSR20 will work perfectly with 60 cell PV panels and 8s LiFePO4 battery.

Sweet, Thanks Dacian.
So the basic statement, that the additional 12 cells and the larger size of the panel are a waste, is correct when using SBMS0 + DSSR20?

Yes that is correct. The extra 12 cells are useless when using SBMS0 + DSSR20
