Hi,

I'm starting using Electric and I want to use the tsmc-180 nm process that correspond to mosis scalable design rules SCN6M_DEEP that goes with lambda = 90nm
If I just select lambda=90 in the 'scale' option of the mocmos techonolgy process, Will I be already using all the correct design rules?
I've seen in the plugin section that there is a missing plugin called cmos=90,tsmc=180.
What does that particular plugin does? I've not seen it in the documentation of electric.

Thanks!

It's not likely that scaling an existing technology will give exact design rules for 90nm. The "tsmc" technologies (both 90nm and 180nm) were proprietary files with sensitive IP, so they could not be distributed.

Thank you Steven

I'm still a bit confused.
Basically I want to use MOSIS Scalable CMOS (SCMOS) Design rules.
I have the design rules specification document (version 8.0), so eventually I can load all the paramenter if I have to( which I wish I don't have to do it), but I understood that Electric was already compatible with SCMOS design rules.
Specifically in this document it says that I should use 'DEEP' rules with lambda=90nm if I want to work with TSMC 180nm process

If I select 'mocmos' technology, with deep rules, and mocmos scale with 90nm would I not be using what I want?
Here is my configuration.
In Preferences->Technology->Technology (fig1)
In Preferences->Technology->Scale (fig2)
Sorry for asking such basic issue, I'm a bit confused with all these parameters.

Thanks

Well, if the "mocmos" technology in Electric works with the TSMC 180nm process when it is set to 90nm and Deep rules, then that's all good. I didn't know such a thing was possible (and I'm a little confused as to why a 90nm transistor is going to fab properly in a 180nm process). But if others claim that this works, then go for it.
