Hello everyone,

I am following Prof. R Jacob Baker's steps on linking LTspice with Electric as given on his website at the link http://cmosedu.com/cmos1/ltspice/ltspice_electric.htm but I am being met with an error "Error running C:\PROGRA~2\LTC\LTspiceIV\scad3.exe -i R_divider.spi -r R_divider.raw -o R_divider.out: Cannot run program "C:\PROGRA~2\LTC\LTspiceIV\scad3.exe" (in directory ""): CreateProcess error=123, The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect". I've verified the path by using it in command prompt to open LTspice, so no issues there.

I would also like to mention that I've saved my Electric jelib file in drive F. Herewith I've attached the screenshot of the Spice/CDL preferences.

Hope you could help with my issue.

Thank You.

Regards,
Anand Verma

The issue has been SOLVED.

Just needed to use the pathname C:\Program Files (x86)\LTC\LTspiceIV\scad3.exe in the "Run program" field.

it can b a problem of spawning ltspice is prohibited from electric...

its quite possible that an antivirus can also block such behaviour...

Hello Anand,

I'm using Windows and my installation is at: "C:\Program Files\LTC\LTspiceXVII\XVIIx64.exe", so it would be "program~1". If you really downloaded the early version (32 bit), I can tell you that the newer is better.

Besides this, I don't know which software you're using to run Windows programs on Mac: can it be the problem? Another thing I think is worth ensuring is that the Windows path notation with "\" is really supported by your system. I have a Mac, but I use it very little, so I can't help you with this.

Myself, I don't use this kind of integration. I do prefer to launch Spice separately, as I use LTSpice for some analyses and NGSpice for others: it would be SO nice to have a .step (LTSpice) or a sweep option (HSpice) analysis in NGSpice!

Best regards,
