ONLINE TECHNICAL EVENTS 2013
IET Young Professionals Section Chennai is organizing online technical events to enrich the knowledge of IET student members. The online technical events are scheduled monthly/bimonthly and are categorized into cash prize and certificate events. Interested IET Student members can participate in the online events and improve their technical skills. Prize winners will be felicitated in YPS Chennai Annual Conference which is scheduled in the month of 28th September 2013.
First Prize : Rs 1500 , Second Prize : Rs 1000 , Third Prize : Rs750
March-April 2013 EVENTS
EVENT - I -PENCIL SKETCH |
Sketching is an art and is executed by freehand drawing. This is a technical event where real time gadgets corresponding to the members respective field of interest can be sketched. So, quickly record impressions through sketching and win exciting prizes. Scanned copy of the sketch has to be communicated.
EVENT - II- SURVEY

In this event qualitative information about Ironbox (or) Air-Conditioner (or) Tablet PC has to be collected. A team should be of two members. A questionnaire has to be framed comprising of atleast 25 questions. Based on the questionnaire, a survey has to be conducted on a population of various categories. Best survey report with innovative recommendations will be awarded.
EVENT - III- TRAVEL AROUND SOUTH INDIA:

An innovative and interesting write up on the heritage, tradition & pride of the South India has to be written in three page or 1500 words. The most exciting and meaningful writeup will win a trip across South India.
EVENT - IV- IMPACT OF MOBILE PHONE RADIATION & SOLUTION

It is the team event of two members, where the participants will have to prepare the technical report on impact of mobile phone radiation and your possible solutions to avoid that. The most innovative implementable idea will be awarded. Orginal idea with own way of writting will be well appreciated. Submit your technical report paper with Abstract, Introduction, Existing Problem, Solution Methodology, Conclusion and References. The best technical concept to avoid radiation will receive fund from IETYPS to develop working model.
EVENT - V - DESIGN THE GRID

IET YPS Chennai is planning to change the format of the present Technical News Letter named "THE GRID". A new deisgn has to be created for the front page of THE GRID in this event. The design should adhere the IET Brand Guidelines esp. Font and Color specified in the IET Brand Guidelines. It is a team event and of two members. Participants have to prepare THE GRID with minimum of four pages and communicate to the corresponding email. Please visit our existing THE GRID for your reference. Usage of Adobe Photoshop software is preferrable.
| EVENT - VI - POWER WASTAGE & POSSIBLE SOLUTION |
It is a team event of two members, where the participants have to prepare a technical report on impact of power wastage and possible solutions to avoid pwer wastage. Most innovative and implementable idea will be awarded. Original idea with the members own style of writing will get appreciation. Submit your technical report with the contents of Abstract, Introduction, Existing Problem, Solution Methodology, Conclusion and References. Best technical concept to reduce power wastage will receive a fund from IETYPS.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK) , Young Professionals Section Chennai announces "IET(YP) Chennai Promo Video Competition 2013″. Winner will receive a cash prize of Rs: 5,000 and it is open to all IET members in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Three videos has to be made with time limit 2min, 5min and 10min and has to promote the uniqueness of IET benefits and YPS Chennai activities.

IET YPS Chennai is planning to change the website with innovative concepts. In view of the initiative, Event - VIII is organized. Participants has to design the front page of the website. The design should adhere the IET Brand Guidelines esp. Font, Size and Color specified in the IET Brand Guidelines. It is a team event and of two members. Participants have to design the front page of the website andcommunicate to the corresponding email. The last date for submission of this event is August 25, 2013.
