Description :: Electric floor warming system used to heat tile flooring. The system is designed to heat the designated square footage when installed in mortar under tile or masonry flooring. The heating element is spaced 6-7" apart across the heated area. This allows for simple coverage of any shaped area. The heating element is less than 1/8" thick, so the rise in flooring height is negligible. We offer a 20-year warranty on its product. Product Life is 50 years.

A low cost alternative to mats.
By Charles B. Naumann
This product cost less than 1/3 of what heating mats would have cost. Make no mistake, this is not nearly as easy to install as mats, the cable is thicker and must be embedded in mortar. Also, it would have been nice if they had included about 3 times as much tape. All in all, I am happy with the cost savings.

Be careful that you receive the correct length/wattage heating cable that you order
By B Skinner
I wanted to express my frustration. I ordered GudCraft SWS1750W. This is supposed to include a 1750 Watt spool of heating element that will cover 160 square feet of space. Instead I received GudCraft SWS1000W which has a much shorter 1000 Watt spool of heating element to cover 80 square feet and is much less expensive.
This is very disappointing. I had a day set aside to install this and now I do not have what I need.
Since the two products are identical other than the length of cable (and increased wattage) I feel that if I had not been paying attention I could easily have not noticed.
Anyone who orders this brand of radiant floor heating should very carefully read the label on the spool of heating element wire. If I had not noticed that the spool was labeled "1000W" and had not recalled that it should be "1750W" then I would have installed it. Then when I got one half of my room done and realized that i only had one half of the heating element that I needed... It would have been a disaster.
I have requested an exchange. I will update my review after I receive a replacement.
Update - 2 Days Later
Amazon exceeded my expectations. I requested an exchange. I was given a pre-paid UPS return shipping label. That was sort-of to be expected since the error was on Amazon's side. The surprise was a follow-up email that apologized for the mistake and upgraded the replacement item to next day / Saturday shipping. That is excellent customer service.
I received the replacement before noon on Saturday. This time it was exactly the item that I wanted.
