At least a couple of the people participating in the argument about single-winner voting systems became convinced that it's worth having a separate area for criteria (I say constraints and criteria, and the other person just says criteria). That way, when a criterion (or a constraint) is mentioned with respect to any number of voting systems, and then argued for as a useful criterion, it becomes unnecessary to repeat everywhere it is mentioned all the arguments for and against the validity or usefulness of that criterion. Those can be consolidated in one place, and then when the criteria are mentioned in the voting-system context, there can be a link over to the arguments about the criterion itself.
