Plans to update the API for upcoming election?

Hi all--

I'm interested in using this API for the upcoming election. Is it currently being supported/updated? If so, is there a timeline for rolling out election data either locally or nationwide?

Yes, it is supported and being updated.  We are literally rolling it all out today!  

Still working out a few of the kinks and getting all the supporting material on the website.

To answer your question, the election center API will be supported this cycle.  We're expecting to launch a new version of the API with documentation in the next two weeks or so and data will start being available in mid October.  Stay tuned :)

Ok, thanks. 

There is no election data for my area (Philadelphia) so I'd like to test with an area that has data. Is there an address has full election data for election 2000?

Hi Paul,

We have good KS sample data for election ID 2000.  I use the address "1263 pacific ave. kansas city 66102" when I'm testing things out.

Hi Anthea,

I registered on the online form for access but wanted to see if I could also get access to the KS Sample Data you are referring to below. 

We'd also love access to the API when it goes live for 2012.

I have a mobile advocacy platform and we'd love to add in a component to help people find their polling places.
