Hi , I have been observing a group of pre-schoolers who i transport to
and from school. Most of them come from homes where english is not the
mother tounge. Over the school year i watch them learn to understad and
use english. I wanted to know if a child would take more time to learn
to speak if there are more than one languages spoken in the home.
So do children in multi -lingual homes speak later than those in homes
where there is only one language spoken?
