HI,

I'm getting this warning/error in SCORM Cloud:-

The external metadata referenced at /courses/S910UWISKP/Archive0ba02052-05c1-441c-ad1d-11e33d6c96de/0\imsmetadata.xml could not be opened. The specific exception was: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /courses/S910UWISKP/Archive0ba02052-05c1-441c-ad1d-11e33d6c96de/0 (Is a directory).

I have been trying to figure out for days, but getting nowhere. Where do I need to look to understand and hopefully get rid of it!

I'm using pipweks planets simple SCORM 1.2 wrapper

Thanks

WL

Does that file exist in your package?  Are there other files referenced inside that XML?

Take care,
jpc

Hi John,
you know what....now you mention it, it doesn't contain an imsmetadata
file, so thats the error.

The app works sweet as a nut in moodle and SCORM cloud and green ticks
the box for completed which is great and a lifeline to us trying to
catch up!
I have been working with AS3 for years and now I have some clients who
want
SCORM certificated flash activities and they need it to pass with no
errors on SCORM cloud or the ADL Test 1.2 suite.
the simple planets stuff fails (on my) ADL test suite and gives the
parser error on SC.

I just need a lead, if I have something working I usually can take it
further. The pipwerks files are the only flash/SCORM thing out there
that makes any sense
so its worth trying to find what's happening before I throw in the
towel

cheers

WL

My Planets example doesn't have the greatest manifest -- it was meant to be an example of the ActionScript/JavaScript RTE. I'll eventually fix it up, but in the meantime, you may want to make a new one yourself :)

I have fixed this by using looking at the metadata tags in captivate
imsmanifest.xml and cut and paste those over the original in planets
This did the trick and there are no errors in SCORM Cloud and it
passes perfectly on ADL test suite 1.2

The manifest seems to be the heart of SCORM!

and....thanks Philip for taking the time to create these Flash SCORM
demos.
Other than your stuff there is practically nothing out there. If you
were to take this to the next level
I'm sure there's a basis for business.
