Sorry for not really writing this week! Oh! An annoncement from the missionary depatment-

From the Missionary Department: 

Missionaries are to write to their families each week and are also authorized to communicateby email with friends, priesthood leaders, and new converts. Mission presidents should allow sufficient time on preparation day for missionaries to write emails and letters. While in the mission field, missionaries should receive authorization from the mission president beforee ntering into communication, including via email, with converts and others of the opposite gender within the mission boundaries (see Missionary Handbook, 36–37).

This week was good! We had a fantastic lesson with a reference from a member that´s named Ivan. He´s fantastic. His friend, David, who´s about to receive his mission call, has really been helping him in the gospel. One time when Ivan was really sick, David gave him a blessing, and Ivan could feel the power of the blessing- really feel the power of the priesthood. Ivan really has a fantastic desire to help others, and has a great love for the scriptures. 

We taught Ivan for the first time last Sunday, after church with David. When we taught him, I could really feel the power of the scriptures as we shared our testimonies and the testimonies of the prophets in times of old. Ivan really understands the scriptures, and is willing to do what the Lord wants. He accepted a baptismal date in two weeks.

Another spiritual experince I had this week is our studying- there were many times when my companion and I would talk about what really happens after death, and the ressurection, and then that same day or the next day, there was a less active member that had that exact question. 

This less active´s name is Mar*, and she also didn´t think it was fair that while there were many people who suffered for a ton of time, that Jesus only suffered this for a moment. But as we read the scriptures with her, and shared our testimonies, she really could understand why Jesus Christ suffered- to give us an opportunity to repent, and to comfort us, and  That he suffered more than we can possibly imagine. 

I know there is power in the scriptures and in true testimony. I know that this church is true, and that God guides this church through his Prophet, Thomas S. Monson

Did the package that I sent in Jan. get to you yet?  

Afraid not. But apparently, if you send it in an envelope package, and not a box, it´ll get to me a ton quicker, because of legal reasons. 

Physical?

Yep! I´m running every day and stretching or strength exercises every other day. 

How are you feeling?  I´m feeling really good. 

What is your average day like.?

 What time do you leave  the house? Usually we leave the house at about 11, or 11:30. 

Do you come home for lunch.? Yep! And it´s diffWhat is your favorite thing to eat? Are there lots of fruits and Veggies? What is the most common thing you eat?  Does your cook also do your laundry?   Do you have members willing to teach with you? Are they fellowshipping Will? How old is he?

 

Here´s a rundown of my daily day. At 6:30, me and my companion get up, pray both as companions and individually, read D&C4 and the Missionary Purpose (Invite people to come to Christ...) After this, we exercise for a half hour. I run for 20 minutes, and then after stretch or do strength exercies. After that we shower and get ready for the day, and after at about 7:30, we go to the house of Hermana Flaudia, which is really close. We usually have a light breakfast (sandwich with avocado and a sandwich of meat&onions with a drink that´s called ¨Waker¨ that´s a lot like oatmeal). After that, we study peronally from the Book of Mormon for a half hour, and a half hour in other things. I love personal sstudy, and really am learning a ton. The power and the exsamples taht are in the Book fo Mormon really help me in my life.

Then, after companionship and language study, we go and teach or contact for an hour or two, then return to Hermana Flaudia´s house for lunch. Lunch here in Latin America is always really big, and dinner is usually small, but it´s something I´m used to now. Almost always for lunch, we have soup, rice, potatoes, and chicken, and something else (salad with tomato and avocado and lime for example)

 but almost always it´s cooked in a different way. I´m really liking the food, and I haven´t had much problems with my stomach so far. Yep, Hermana Flaudia does our laundry as well.
