¡Hola! ¿Como estan?
This week was pretty good. Last Saturday, both F and C were baptized, and they both were confirmed- even if C was confirmed right before the closing prayer because she was so late. Ah well, we´ll help her to be more on time this week.
We´ve been teaching Al* and An* this past week a lot. They´re the great grandchildren of E* who´s the ancient member who we brought to church on Mother´s day. Their mom and dad are also members, but have been inactive for several years. We´ve got a Plan for their family so they can go to the temple and get sealed together.
1. Asistir a la iglesia (Attend Church)
It starts with them returning to Church- having them put the other things aside and putting that as the most important part of their Sunday.
2. Bautismo (Baptism)
Next, that Al and An need to get baptized. An is very quiet, is nine years old,.and I believe will be baptized this next week. Al is 14, and is a little more rebellious and sometimes doesn´t really listen closely. We´re praying for her that she can be helped out too, so that the whole family can be sealed.
3. Casarse (Marriage)
Their parents also need to get married. They´ve been together for a long time, but haven´t ever been married- we´re not really sure why, and they don´t seem to have a good reason why. But we know that they´ll receive a lot of blessings from God when they start living the Law of Chastity and start being more obedient to the laws of God.
4. Sacerdocio (Priesthood)
Finally, the father needs to receive the Priesthood so that he can help bless his family. First the Aaronic, then when he´s ready, the Melchezidek. When he gets the Melchezidek it´ll be such a fantastic day for the family. He´ll be able to bless them and comfort them and be able to help heal them. He´ll be able to lead his family in righteousness.
We´re really excited for this family, because they want to do what´s right. They love each other and they´re going to help each other come closer to God.
Some other people that we´ve met is R* who has a fantastic relationship with God. She prays a ton, and knows that she needs to do things God´s way, not our own way. We know if she reads and prays about the Book of Mormon, she´ll receive an answer from God and eventually will be baptized. It just starts with opening the Book and reading!
We also got to know G*, the aunt of An and Al. That lesson was really interesting. We talked a lot about prophets, and she ended up teaching and explaining to us about the consequences when there aren´t prophets. It was so incredible and a testimony to me that the Holy Ghost works in the hearts of the people to help them understand the message.
We´re trying to focus a lot more on families, so that they can be taught and sealed to each other in the temple of God. That´s what´s most important- helping the families be together forever with God.
I love this work, and I´m so glad that I´m here now at this time with these people. I know that the Lord has a lot of work for me to do here, and that he´s helping guide my paths and the paths of the people investigating the church.
I love you all! Make sure you study the scriptures, converse with God in prayer, and have spiritual experiences at Church!
