This week went really well. We were really able to see the hand of the Lord in the lives of those we are teaching. We´re teaching Mark, the husband of a recent convert. He´s been coming to church, and he´s been loving it. He said that this past week, he´s been reading the Book of Mormon, and has felt a very special peace and joy. I hope that he´s going to be able to progress and be baptized this month.
I witnessed a miracle this past week. There´s a family we´re
teaching that´s going through a lot of troubles. The father has troubles
with addiction, and is trying really hard to be able to conquer his
addiction. But on Thursday,
he came home bad. He took his stuff and left, saying that he was going
to leave with his friends. A little later, we came by with a friend of
the mom, to comfort her, and we, speaking sincereely, kind of gave up on
the father. We figured that he was going to hit bottom, be lost for
atime, and eventually come back. We talked about changing the lock,
about moving (so that the memories didn´t hurt), about finding a new job
so that she could support herself and her 3 year son.
The ward worked hard to be able to help her, started working on support for her. And then on Sunday,
something amazing happened- we were in church, and they both came! The
father realized that he had made a mistake, and came back home. I am so
glad that the Lord was able to touch his heart and bring him home.
