Hello!
So I awoke Monday morning, and to my surprise, we got a call. Elder G. was transferred to Arequipa and is going to be District leader. I was a little nervous for my new companion, but when we started tracting Monday night, I knew that the Lord sent the companion I needed. His name´s Elder C., and he´s fantastic. He´s from Lima, and not only is he the only member in his immediate family, he was only a member for one year before coming on his mission. He´s been on his mission for 6 months, and he´s great. He´s really direct, works really hard, and really wants baptisms. His testimony is rock solid, and I´m going to be learning a lot from him.
This week, a really cool experience is that when we were contacting, we heard someone yell ¨Elderés!¨ We turn, and there´s a teenager, 17, who was an investigator of different elders before moving. He´s been here for a couple of months, and was wondering how to get back in contact with the Church. We talked with him, and he accepted a baptismal date for the 24th of Febuary if he gets an answer to his prayers. Isn´t it amazing how the Lord directs our paths?
And one thing about this mission- they really want us to invite people to baptism- and Elder C. is really really good at doing it. Probably 7/10, if the person´s willing to listen, they will accept a baptismal date from him ¨if they get an answer¨. Getting them to come to church however....
And that´s one trouble here. We have a hard time having investigatores come to church. They say they will, and we call them, and they say they will, but then when the time comes, they aren´t at the Church. We´re working on that, and we hope that we can bring more people to church so that they can feel the Spirit, can learn about the church, and can participate in the Sacrament.
Thank you so much for your love and for your prayers. I can feel them, all the way from here. Stay strong, read your scriptures, say your prayers, and Go to church!
Elder Stay
