I am curious if anyone else has encountered this.  On some images and not others after clicking Sky Replacement, Photoshop freezes up and none of the buttons in Photoshop will work.  In fact, I cannot close the sky replacement panel.  None of the other apps open are able to be moved on top of Photoshop.  The only solution is Force Kill of Photoshop.  I am on a Mac.

James,
I am on an iMac running OS 12.6 and the latest version of Photoshop 2022 and have had no problems running sky replacement. This image is an example:

I did a lot of testing and was on chat with Adobe support for a few hours.  The image that caused problems was scanned from a slide.  I have no idea if that had anything to do with it.  The Adobe support person told me the image was corrupted.  There was no other evidence it was corrupted except for it causing Photoshop to freeze when I tried Sky Replacement.  I tested sky replacement on about 3 other images without any problem.  I resaved the image with a different name.  I also tried flattening the image and deleting all of its alpha channels.  I tried it as both a psd file and a tif file.  All of these tests caused Photoshop to freeze.  A saved jpeg version of the file did work OK with sky replacement.  Finally, I tried opening the image with Photoshop 2021 instead of 2022, and Sky replacement worked fine.  I did a further test opening in PS 2022 the image with the layers created by PS 2021 sky replacement.  I was able to modify and make changes to those layers using PS 2022.  I uploaded the image with 5 layers (not the sky replacement layers) to Adobe.  They could not replicate the error.  If this happens again I have a workaround -using PS 2021.  To be clear, sky replacement worked for other images.

Adobe called me and explained that the graphics card on my 2017 iMac is not entirely compatible with Photoshop 2022.  Oh well.  I thought the computer was performing pretty well.  So, I guess I budget for a new computer.  At least I can still do sky replacement.
