to Elcano
The Kelly E-bike controllers had appeared to be not working. I had the main 36V and Ground lines connected, the three phase lines, five lines for Hall, 5V and Ground, Lines for throttle, 5V and ground. I had also wired in the green and red LEDs. Hook up to power, and we get nothing.
I brought the UWB Kelly controller to Jigsaw, and tried to use it to drive a wheel. Nothing. I took Elcano #1, spare wheel, and all controllers to UWB. Josh connected Elcano #2 to its controller. What I had been missing is that the UWB controller also needs 12V. I rechecked the documentation on our controllers, and found an unconnected signal on (7) PWR: Controller power supply (input). There is no mention of what voltage it should be, but the schematic has it connected to the main battery.
I connected pin 7 to 36V, and got both LEDs to light! Green means power is on. Red is an error code. It was flashing 1,3 for "low voltage error". The battery is at 38.5V, so this does not make sense. There are settable parameters, and I expect to be able to get it right. I'm pleased that we are getting response. This is with an Elcano #1 controller, #2 wheel and batteries.
When I try with Elcano #1 wheel, #2 controller and batteries, still see error code 1,3. It also says "low voltage" when the 36V supply is disconnected, and the controller is only powered from 12V. Elcano #2 wheel, controller and batteries works; no error code.
The Elcano #1 controller is Kelly KBS36051; Elcano #2 is Kelly KEB48201X.
