I just got a call inviting me to show Elcano in New York for a TV show on maker spaces this weekend. They would pay to get me and the vehicle to New York by Thursday, with filming on Friday and Saturday.

I explained that the vehicle was not working; they would need to ship it by Tuesday. Is there any chance that we can get the E-bike controller functional within 24 hours?

Michael -

Five Elcano people helped me out last night, and we have restored the drive-by-wire function.

Remember me when you're rich and famous.  :-)
Also, Jigsaw Renaissance!  :-)

I'm already rich, and fame is relative.

Thanks to everyone who pitched in last night, and others who were sending us good vibes.  I really appreciate it.

Thanks again to everyone for the effort Monday night!

I got e-mail from the TV producer Tuesday morning, and sent him some forms and photos. He did not follow through with getting Elcano or me to NY, so the gig is off. I had mixed feelings about the TV anyway.

I'm glad that we have put life back into the project, and I want to keep it going.

Everyone has skills to address the next tasks:
Help out UWB and finish mechanically mounting equipment on Elcano #2 for drive-by-wire.
Reorganize and simplify software. There are a lot of hooks for future expansion that obscure the essentials.
Design the next iteration of the printed circuit boards.
Expand the web site by providing more links and well-organized documentation. Acknowledge that the boards are under development, and not yet available.

I will be going to Las Vegas March 14-16 for the 10th reunion of the DARPA Grand Challenge. That should be a good opportunity to expand our team, and I want to improve our on-line presence over the next month.

Let's meet soon, so we can talk about the website.

Best wishes,
