I have outlined 10 labs that will take students to a functioning vehicle. I want to build these modules before the class is next offered.

Lab 1) Introduction to Arduino.

Lab 2) Completed 3/3/14 . Rewrite drive-by-wire code so that it has only what is needed. Repair Elcano #1 (a cable connector had pulled loose). Test the code on Elcano #1.

Lab 3) In Progress: Cyclometer. I have modified student code to read the wheel revolution click and get speed and distance.
To do: There are four test stations: Vehicle #1, #2, and two bike wheels in the lab. For each of these, attach a jack that plugs into the Trio board and brings the wheel click signal to the Arduino Mega. Install and calibrate a second separate cyclometer on each test station. Verify that the results from the cyclometer matches the result from the Arduino. We will need to buy verification cyclometers.

Lab 4) Next: Start and stop. Move the vehicle under computer control for a given distance and speed (measured by cyclometer). Steering is locked, so that the vehicle moves in either a straight line or a circle.

Can you work with me on the current step? When is a good time?

3:00 on Monday, March 10 is a good time for me. Working during or after class is an option. Class is 5:45 to 7:45; I expect to lecture for an hour, and do lab projects for an hour.
