An alternative to buying a brand new watch is to trade your watch for
a different one. It is rare that you can trade a used watch for a new
one, but if the original value of it is much larger than a new watch
of lesser value, then you can get away with doing this.

For the most part, people trade their used watches so they have
variety. After wearing the same thing for a long time, people often
get tired of the same thing and want something different. Of course,
there are many people out there who could use the same watch for their
whole lives, but since everybody is different, this is not always the
case.
