Hi everyone,

An article on Bishop Moyo's visit appears in this month's synod newsletter (http://www.pacificasynod.org/nl01.12.pdf).  Attached, please find a draft of a follow-up article that should appear in the reasonably near future, though I fear I'm probably too late for the February newsletter. It covers the push we discussed for Lent, extending into Easter.

If I can get enough news, updates, and other tweet-able information, I'm going to have a try at Twitter as well, using the hash tag #ELCAMC. So this is also a plea for content: as you see information related to the malaria campaign, please either send it to me or, if you prefer, please go ahead and tweet it using the #ELCAMC tag.

Hello Jeff,

 

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in San Clemente will hold its annual Baskets for Bednets fundraiser on Sunday morning, April 22, in conjunction with World Malaria Day. Participants will have 45 seconds – symbolic of the malaria death rate in Africa – to make as many baskets as they are able. This year’s proceeds will be given to the ELCA Malaria Campaign via Pacifica Synod.

Hi everyone,

I took the article in the Synod newsletter on Bishop Moyo's visit and cut it back to one page so it will fit better in a church newsletter. Please find it attached, and please feel free to reprint it if you find it helpful.

Also, Lori Seargeant at the synod office really went the extra mile for us. She reformatting the whole nearly-complete Synod newsletter from scratch to make sure the follow-up article will appear in next month's newsletter. Many thanks again to her for her help!
