Hi,

last time I checked elasticluster did not work with IPv6 only. My openstack cloud provider is starting to run out of IPv4 adresses, and therefore I need to run elasticluster for openstack asking for IPv6 only, not dualstack which is the default.

Is this now in place?

If not, is there an easy hack to allow it?

Thanks!
Maiken

I'm afraid nothing has changed in this respect.

Not that I know of.

I am of course willing to provide guidance and fast-track PRs if
anyone is willing to help.

I myself will likely not be able to work on this short-term, given
that my current employer has decreased its interest in ElastiCluster.
I have been discussing "paid support" options with an HPC consulting
company so this could be a good case to kick-start this kind of
collaboration, assuming somebody is willing to pay for adding
features.

Hope the news is not too discomforting!

Ciao,

Hi again,

I just realise that in openstack configuration you enter the network id.
If the network id I chose has private ipv4 and public ipv6 that is fine right?

Thanks!

Hello Maiken,

It should be fine as long as:

- the machine where you're running ElastiCluster on can reach the
private IP addresses over SSH (if this is not the case, you can start
a VM in your OpenStack project and run ElastiCluster from there)
- the machines can reach the internet to download software (this can
happen over IPv6, ElastiCluster doesn't care)

Ciao,

Great, thanks!
I will be running in the same network, so that should be perfect then.
