I would like to add my own .pka-s into the course and use them as assignments. I can do that by uploading the file, creating an assigment, then student downloads the file and uploads the solved activity of an other student...
If Netspace could use my own .pkas with the same method as the official activities (calls PT from the webpage and uploads the file automatically when student chooses Submit) and also puts the percentages automatically into the gradebook, now that would be quite nice.

I'm using packet tracer 7.2. I am have setup a packet tracer final hands-on exam for my students that can grade it's self using the activity wizard. I have downloaded the activity grader and imported the app into packet tracer. The problem is when I launch the activity grader it sends me to java.com to download java. I already have the latest java. What am I doing wrong? The activity grader 7.1.1 can be found here:

However, what is missing and what some of us are busy working on (which is not looking so simple) is to have an Instructor load .pka files to a webpage (e.g. Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard) and to have a student upload their completed .pka files. On upload, the submitted .pka file must be automatically graded.

Use the x button to delete a page of instructions. Use the < and > to move through the pages.

Activity Timer Time Elapsed tracks the time taken to complete an activity. Countdown sets a time limit for completing the activity. None turns the timer off. The default is Time Elapsed.

The Show Initial Network button will display an empty topology, which means the student will start from scratch. You can import a different initial network from an existing .pkt file or export the current initial network to a .pkt file. Use the Copy from Answer Network button to copy the answer network to the initial network. Then click on Show Initial Network button and adjust the initial network so that the assessed items are missing. Initial Network The Initial Network screen allows you to set up the initial network and lock certain options within PT.

Make changes to this network to remove any items you want to assess. For instance, you might remove the interface IP addresses if that is one item you wish to assess. After copying the Answer Network as the Initial Network, select Show Initial Network to make edits. Show Initial Network

Click Enable Password to ensure the password is set. The lock icon will lock if the password is enabled. Click Test Activity to make sure the activity performs as intended. Password Options The Password screen allows you to set a case-sensitive password.

The Instructions window cannot be closed. You can minimize the window or resize it. Testing the Activity The Test Activity wizard cap reminds you that you are testing the activity. Click on it to exit testing.

Saving the Activity When satisfied with the activity, click the Save button. Save the file with an appropriate name in the directory of your choice. Note that the file extension for activities is .pka.

Now that we have prepared our assessment, we should test it and see if it works the way it should. Click on the Test Activity button. Complete the assessment and see how the Completion percentage information increases. You should also try doing things from the Locked list to see how Packet Tracer behaves.

Once you're satisfied with the result, come back to the activity wizard and click on Save. The assessment file alone will be saved with a .pka extension. This file can be distributed to anyone who has to take up the assessment. If the end user tries to open the activity wizard, a password prompt will appear.

[1] A packet tracer activity while encrypted can still be decrypted with enough reverse engineering knowledge, thus being able to modify the activity wizard password and encrypt it back to its original form.
