So I bought 11 suite with edu discount and the way it works is that you can download it right away and do anything but it won't let you save or export. You have to wait a day to get the license registration code. Now I have the code and some project that I started in ableton but can't save. Is there any way to authorize the license in ableton without having to restart it so the authorization thing pops up. I really don't want to lose all my work
If you change your computer components for some reason, Live may indeed ask you to authorize the software another time. Live does not need to be reauthorized when computer peripherals are replaced (audio or MIDI hardware, printers, modems). But you may need to authorize again if the motherboard, processor or network card is replaced. On some computers, reformatting a hard drive will require a new authorization.
The standard Live license allows you to use Live on only one computer at a time. However, the Ableton server will provide you with two authorizations in good faith that you will use Live on only one machine at a time.
How long does it usually take Ableton team to approve additional authorization or reset authorizations for Ableton Live Standard? I have two Macbooks that has had Ableton License and recently I wiped one of Macbooks of of Ableton software and gave it to my wife. tried to Authorize Windows PC instead of that wiped macbook but I have no authorizations left. So I have just one Macbook with the License. Ableton allows Licensing of two machines. I asked them for additional authorization couple days ago but there is no answer still. How would I remove license from Macbook that I gave to my wife as there is no way to do it (as far as I know). Should I always contact Ableton support to remove licenses of computers in case I replace or sell them?
It is actually not clear what to do if you are in my situation. They can remove authorizations from all computers and allow me to authorize 2 machines that I want again, but there is no option on doing this so I asked them for additional authorization.
I want first to say that i am completely new to Ubuntu,i installed it one week ago. I already watched the solutions to this problem and tried them all: i checked on system32 that all the necessary .dll where there and imported the missing ones. To open Ableton live i need to open the authorization (.auz) but i didn't manage and there is no program in the "open with" that allows that. I don't know if adding Ableton live to the open with apps could help, but i don't know how to do that too, i tried looking in the forums but i didn't manage. Maybe this command could be useful $ wine Live.exe "C:\foo.auz" but i typed it in the terminal and did not work. As i said i am totally new to Ubuntu and don't know how to work with properly. If someone could explain me how to manage to open the .auz file and let Ableton work it would be amazing, cause i am really getting crazy and have no idea how to manage by myself. I have recently bought Ableton Live, and I installed it as suggested, but: when I press on the "authorize with ableton.com" button, it takes me to my account, but I just see a download for Ableton Live 10 (Standard), I have already downloaded it after buying it.I installed Firefox, but there is no way at all, to make it the default browser. There is something off with Windows... Firefox does not show up in the default browsers.
I went ahead with the offline activation using the .auz file, but Windows needs to set a default program to open it, but after browsing my PC and choosing ableton as a default, it does not open and then it drops the same message, something like: Windows needs to have a default program to open that. I opened the file from LIVE like a new set live, but Live said the file was damaged.
I tried again with the online authorization using Internet explorer and Edge, which are the only programs that I can set as default browsers appart from Chrome, I saw a screen that said it was connecting to LIVE but after a while, it said: time out, try again.
Okay, I found a workaround that worked. I also own Propellerhead Reason. I ran Reason, created a new track, added Helix Native and it worked. Ran Abelton Live again and the plug in worked without taking me around and around the authorization loop.
To get a new version of Live to work on a new computer, you will need to uninstall it on the old PC or Mac first. The new version on the new computer will then have to undergo the authorization process too.
An unauthorized copy of Ableton will work, but the saving and exporting projects are disabled. You can work on ideas and have a live set running but will not be able to save and export the final product.
Before setting up your Oxygen Pro with Ableton, let's take a moment to authorize your software.
1. Launch the Ableton application from your computer's Program or Application folder.
2. The software will automatically prompt you to license the program. Click Authorize with ableton.com to proceed.
3. You will be directed to Ableton's account page. If you are a new user, fill in the necessary information under the Register field to create an account. Otherwise, enter your account credentials and sign in.
4. Once signed into your account, click on Register a product.
5. Keep Ableton's registration page open and navigate to M-audio.com on a separate tab in your browser.
6. Sign in to your M-Audio account and click on My Products.
7. Listed under Oxygen Pro, you will see your Ableton Live Lite authorization code. Copy this code and return to Ableton's registration page.8. Paste the code in the provided field and click Submit.
9. The License will be added to your Ableton account and can now be activated for use on your computer.
You should also restart your Mac after installing KICK 2 before even trying to open Live and proceed to authorization.
So once done with the new KICK 2 install, restart, then launch Live, rescan your plugins and only then try to open an instance of KICK 2 and go through authorization.
