Nero Burning ROM, commonly called Nero, is an optical disc authoring program from Nero AG. The software is part of the Nero Multimedia Suite but is also available as a stand-alone product. It is used for burning and copying optical media such as CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray disks. The program also supports the label printing technologies LightScribe and LabelFlash, and can be used to convert audio files into other audio formats.

Nero Burning ROM is a pun in reference to Roman Emperor Nero, who was best known for his association in the Great Fire of Rome. The emperor allegedly fiddled while the city of Rome burned. Also, Rome in German is spelled Rom. The software's logo features a burning Colosseum, although this is an anachronism as it was not built until after Nero's death.[2]

Nero Burning ROM is only available for Microsoft Windows. A Linux-compatible version was available from 2005 to 2012, but it has since been discontinued.[3] In newer versions, media can be added to compilations via the Nero MediaBrowser. Nero AirBurn, a new feature in Nero 2015, enables users to burn media straight from their mobile devices.[4] The latest version is Nero Burning ROM 2017 released in October 2016 including SecurDisc [ru; de] 4.0 with 256-bit encryption.

Nero Burning ROM works with a number of optical disc image formats, including the raw uncompressed image using the ISO9660 standard and Nero's proprietary NRG file format. Depending on the version, additional image formats may be supported. To use non-natively supported formats such as lossless FLAC, Wavpack, and Shorten, additional program modules must be installed. The modules are also known as plug-ins and codecs and are usually free, although Nero AG sells some proprietary video and audio plug-ins. Standard CD images created by Nero products have the filename extension .NRG, but users can also create and burn normal ISO images.

He cannot use nero quick start as it does not have the icon to copy.
He can just goto the Windows Menu and click on either the Nero icon that launch the full nero program or there should be a nero-Copy in the sub-folder (Win7 or earlier), for Win 10, that icon is in the program files\nero folder (need to be manually added to desktop or start menu).

We've got screen captures of Fritz and Priscilla as you've never seen them -- oh, and Archie, too -- unless you're lucky enough to have seen a foreign telecast of the the uncut, international version of the series.

The original productions of most shows were several minutes longer than the version telecast in the US and were in wide screen format. Freemantle Enterprises has the overseas rights to this "international version," which has never been telecast or released in the US. Freemantle Enterprises lists the episodes on their site: This production version was created because at that time the European market, unlike the U.S., preferred a full 1 hour of content and in letterbox or wide screen 16:9 format.

Pearson/Freemantle has released many episodes (but not all) in Europe (PAL encoding only) with Dutch subtitles. Click here to reach the Amazon.co.uk page. The Dutch version, although excellent playing quality, has a few errors in labeling and not all episodes that were shot in wide screen have been released in wide-screen format on these DVDs. NB: these DVDs will only play on a DVD player designed for PAL encoding, rather than the US standard of NTSC encoding.

Widescreen/letterbox format: All episodes except the Pilot, The Golden Spiders, were shot in widescreen and & most aired throughout Europe. The only widescreen version released in the US on DVD (but never telecast) was The Silent Speaker.

Pfui's Photostream on Flickr has a variety of missing edges (wide screen version of scenes) and missing minutes, as well as screen captures from the Dutch subtitled version. Click here to see the Flickr site.

The remaining four novella stories from Season Two were produced in a version that met overseas requirements (they are listed on the Freemantle site), but were never telecast: Murder Is Corny , Die Like a Dog,. Help Wanted, Male, The Cop Killer.

Below is a listing of the packaging for the telecasts as well as some wonderful screen captures from friends across the waters.

See the LINKS PAGE for links to sites with more information and scenes from the Missing Minutes and "Letter Box Edges."

hi i just joined this forum and this my first post. I hope am not posting in the wrong place cause i notice that this forum is for mainly for Imgburn related discussion. However, maybe someone can please help me with the following questions and confusions.

I use NERO 7 as the CD-burning software and recently found that a new version of Nero ASPI Driver (v2.0.1.74) is out. Now I have downloaded this version but don't know what to do next. How do I check the version of the Nero ASPI driver currently installed? Is there a tool for doing that?

I however plan to start using imgburn for most of my CD/DVD burning needs hoping that it offers most (if not all) of the features which Nero offers. I assume that amongst the shareware products Nero is probably the better products as compared with Ashampoo and whatever else is out there.

We might have missed out on the Definitive Edition of DMC: Devil May Cry on PC but the Special Edition of 2008's Devil May Cry 4 is coming our way. It'll arrive on June 24th, a few days after the console release, but will include all of the same goodies. Those goodies include a new "Vergil game mode", allowing players to control Dante's devilish brother, as well as a mode that replaces the original game's controllable characters (Nero and Dante) with Lady and Trish.

Demon hunter Lady has never been playable in a Devil May Cry game before and it'll be interesting to see if her ludicrous weaponry (rocket launcher named after her mother with a combo bayonet/grappling hook) will lend itself to a unique playing style. Alternative costumes for Lady and Trish will be included, although possibly only in preorder copies. It's unlikely they'll be any dafter than the original costumes.

It's been a long time since I played any of the four original Devil May Cry games, although I thoroughly enjoyed spin-off/blasphemous addition/reboot DMC. I enjoyed the first, was bored by the second, enjoyed the intensity of the third and found the fourth quite bland. That's probably unfair and I'm actually excited to play the new version. Flicking through reviews, it appears there was criticism of backtracking and recycling of environments and that may be the cause of my dismissal all those years ago. The spectacle in spectacular brawling games often keeps me interested even when the actual combat system is beyond my abilities.

The original version of Devil May Cry 4 is available on Steam but if you've waited this long to play, it seems sensible to wait for a couple more months and take the special edition for a spin. And the new modes are probably pitched at experienced players - I'd be surprised if they don't ramp up the difficulty.
