looking for a Citizenship Prep teacher

Mt. San Antonio College is hosting the 3rd annual EL Civics Conference (in the LA area).  We have a full agenda except for one breakout session that is not filled in the afternoon.  I am looking for a dynamic Citizenship Prep teacher who can demonstrate a few good teaching activities that he/she uses with students to help them prepare for the test.  Let me know if you know of anyone who might be willing.

The conference is on Friday, January 24th in Walnut, California.  Lunch is included thanks to many publishers who are helping us out.

I just saw your request for a presenter at the EL Civics Conference; I've been teaching Citizenship Prep., and I'm familiar with the requirements for students who are applying for U.S. Citizenship. What time is your breakout session in the afternoon? If you still need somebody, I may be available to do it for you.

I have worked at Downey Adult School for over 22 years and have taught Cit. Prep. on and off since I started. I just taught a Cit. Prep. 5-week session in Sept. & will teach 2 more sessions this winter quarter.

Hi Margaret,
How are you? We have had some issues with receiving emails/voicemails, so it has taken me a couple days to get back to you. Yes, I can present on Fri., Jan. 24 at 2:00pm. If you can give me an estimate of how many participants will be attending, I'll bring handouts to distribute that they can use to start their own Citizenship Preparation class. How's that sound?

I was at the conference 2 years ago, and I really thought it was valuable, especially for people who are newer to adult education; I've been teaching ESL in adult education for over 20 years. Now that the WIA 231 funding is competitive, it is even more important agencies who get the funding can capture as many pay points as possible. Citizenship Preparation is definitely one way to do that!!
