Dear Ms. Anitaji,
Greetings from Banasthali!
It is indeed good to find colleagues like you volunteering to lead the charge to contribute for a good cause.
As you are very much aware, our university today stands as world’s largest integrated fully residential university for women’s education in the world. It is a splendid achievement considering that the cost of education has been lower than other self-financing universities.
(Please see attached file to know achievements of our university)
Traditionally in India, Men have dominated financial planning decisions in family and so women empowerment has been low. Even though many women have started earning, financial planning awareness has not improved. Time is appropriate for Banasthali to improve FP at village as well as university level.
I would therefore request you to please read this proposal and evaluate its merit.
The sponsor may consider contributing to the upcoming Centre of Excellence - Centre for Financial Planning (file attached for details).
We are trying to get attention of companies for this project (Rs. 1.45 Crores) but we can run it in a miniature form even if Rs. 12 Lacs can be mobilized. Out of this Rs. 6.37 Lacs has been collected.
About the FP Centre:
It has been found that even working women professionals leave the Financial Planning task to their husbands, while on the other side the awareness among college/school girls about FP is very low. In villages the rural women are often cheated because their awareness about FP in negligible. This means that training for FP is required at all levels. We have already done good research in Financial Planning at the University. Now it is time to spread awareness and carry advanced research through a Centre of Excellence.
This would be the 10th Center of Excellence at our
University campus.
Our university has planned a Rs. 1.45 Crore project on FP
(Year 2014-16) and looking for suitable Organisations/Philanthropists who can
support it.
Appreciating the merit and need of the proposal, for the first time in its history, Banasthali has agreed to contribute 30% of matching grant for this project in addition to providing access to the infrastructure.
Once you/ others transfer funds, please send me an email mentioning the Transaction number and mention that you would like the funds to be used for FP Project. Please provide your postal address, tel no. for records.
